How OLD are you...... really!

2-14-1961

I moved to three wheels due to a Medical condition. I retired on Disability at age 44. Managed to stay on two wheels until 2009.

53, riding since starting on Honda mini trails in the 70's. Went to the Tri Glide because the wife and I fell 3 times on the HD 2 wheeler this year. Nothing happened to us but it could have so I know the trike wont fall over. Keeping her safe is #1 priority to me. BTW we been married 34 years now.

64, it was time to go to three. Love the 2011 Tri Glide, (and so does the better half),I wish I would have done it sooner. Happy Holidays to all.:)

I'm 66, started riding (trying to ride 2 at age of 65). I really loved riding two, but found out rather quickly that my knees were not as young as I was. So after a spill, with a broken elbow decided 3 wheels would be better than no wheels or just tagging along on the back of hubby's. Bought a 2010 FLHXXX May of 2010 and loved it very much. Hubby thought he would like riding a trike, so we traded everything for the 2012 TG. He didn't like riding three, bought his 2010 RK back from the dealer and I am left with the TG. It's a beautiful bike, but I have to be honest with you, it's not the bike that the SG Trike is. I know you all will say they are pretty much the same, but if you ride a SG for a while, then change over to the TG, you will see a difference. I have minor issues with the TG that I never had with the SG. In defense of the TG, it is a little smoother ride, but other than that, I would take my old SG back in a heart beat. I might add since my first ride as driver, May 2010 I have put around 29,000 miles under my belt. We can't ride ride round here, but about 10 months and I couldn't ride for 6 weeks after surgery. I guess you can say I love riding my own! "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night". :Santa:

I'll be 63 and have had three rides on the tri-glide I bought in October. Never ridden a motorcycle before, ever. My wife won't go near it.

Hopefully you have taken some classes! You are still learning and I'm sure your wife has some issues with safety. Keep riding and get some miles under your belt, Once you are an accomplished rider, she may have a different attitude. Good luck!

Iam 69, my wife is 64. I still have my bike (1300VTX), but my wife wasn't comformatable on the bike. So we got an 1800 VTX trike champion conversion. we both like it and spend many hours together on it.

Turned 61 a couple of weeks ago, my lady is also 61. After riding 70k miles during the last 5 years by myself (she's not comfortable on 2 wheels). I decided on the Trike and she can't wait until warmer weather to start riding with me.

That will be the greatest feeling to have her with me. I always envied others whose wife/GF would ride with them.

Don't regret the decision.

Well, I think I've got anyone beat who has replied to this posting so far on age!! I'm 42 years old and we moved to a trike after an injury to my foot. We had a ton-o-fun on two wheels, but after 22 years of riding and the last two years on 3 wheels, we realize it was the best thing we could've ever done!!ThumbUp

According to official records I'm 67.... but I'm REALLY 25!!! I ride the trike 'cause I like it....a fact that my young friends refuse to believe!!! ThumbUp

I am 46 have a ultraclassic and a roadstar and just bought a vw trike that needs a lot of help and I live in Jacksonville FL. I bought this trike as a toy would love any suggestions or help from people in the Jacksonville area doing the same. I work as avionics/electrical on aircraft. I am good with wiring and electrical and mechanics not so good with welding or body work.

72. Lady Di is 68. been riding 2 wheels since 1951. First big bike was 1951 Ariel Square-Four in 1957. Bought Vulcan 1600 Classic in 2006. Bad wreck Dec 20 2009. Bought 2010 Tri Glide Ultra April 10, 2010. Di rides with me now. 1 week later, had withdrawal and bought new 2009 Vulcan 900 Custom, added V&H pipes, TFI FM, lightbar, mini Minneota Fats shield, ScootWorks front and Rear sprockets, ScootWorks risers, and Stebel air horn (I installed this in the original horn location---contact me and i will tell you how to do it). A few weeks ago I bought a new 2010 Victory Jackpot with Tequila Gold extreme graphics, level one mod, windshield, and swept pipes, which I immediately de-baffled. I plan to bling it to the limit. I had a hiccup last night when I backed into it with my trailer---three heat shields, turn signal, brake lever, but no frame, paint, or engine/frame damage. Screwed up left arm lifting it, but no big deal. I will use my Christmas gift certificates at Distinctive Cycles, Freeport FL, to get back to square 1 and move on from there. Margarita is one kick-ass bike---106 CI on a 680 lb bike. Live to ride. Ride to live. Die riding, one way or another. Biker Bone Deep.ThumbUp

I'm 45. Had dirt bikes from 7 years old until 14. Then had a pin in put my hip cause it was "bending" (no kidding) when I was 15. Bought a bike when I was 18 cause all my friends had em and sold it 2 months later. Haven't rode one since cause I can't put my feet down without pressing my legs against the pipes (my legs don't move like yours). Just bought a trike cause I'm tired of doing without.

I love your ride! I wish you a Merry Christmas and many million more miles!

I am 65 and wife is 59. I did not start on 2 wheels until I was 50. Went to trike September of 2011. Her back couldn't take 2 wheel Harley anymore. I love to ride and said I would ride a mule as long as she would ride with me. We both love the trike and took a 3,000 mile trip 2 weeks after purchasing trike pulling our Bunkhouse camper, No back problems and loads of fun. For Christmas we both got heated clothing (her idea) to extend trike riding. She has a 3 month trip planned for us in 2013

I am 55, my bride of 28 years is 53. We loved riding my Super Glide so I moved up to an Ultra. Susan was much more comfortable on the Ultra. We had a minor accident in Panama City Beach a few years ago. My bride was not injured physically. I messed my leg up. I was told I could no longer ride because of my injuries. I didn't like that idea with 2 HDs in the garage.
I sold the Super Glide. Adventure Motorsports triked my ultra. We loved it.

After 3 surgeries in the past 4 years, I have been able to get back on 2 wheels:confused:

My bride won't ride with me much anymore on 2 wheels.

2 new Gran babies in the past 6 months has her attention elsewhere.

I would go back to a trike in a minute if I had to. It gets in your blood after 20,000 miles. :D

im 44 wifes 35. Just came to this site for some answers about trikes and found a wealth of knowlege and met some cool people so I keep coming around.

69 and 2 weeks (12/14/42). Been riding 2 wheels since 1959, 3 wheel (sidecars) since 2004 - a Fatboy with a Liberty Classic, then a Road King with a Harley Ultra. Went to the Triglide (new 2011) in June. I ride so little I'm ashamed of myself, but at least I can still brag about being a bike guy. Left leg bones in several pieces, screwed to a pin (bike accident of course) caused the whole three wheel thing

Got my first trike at 46 due to back injury. Tricked exclusive for 5yrs. My back got better and tried two wheels it worked now I have both and let my back decide which I ride. I sthii have my original 99 Valk CSC conversion. Bike bought new and converted then. My wife is on #4. My age now 59

Well, guess i might chime in here. "wimoonshiner", afraid i've got you beat. I'm 39, 40 in June. Been riding for several years, back injury and surgery put me on three. Riding a 87 Suzuki Cavalcade LXE with a handmade outrigger kit, and almost through with a VW Trike.

69 1/2 Went to the trike a year ago. My bride is really happy with it and she is much more willingn to go for a ride. Gotta confess, however, that the two wheeler was starting to make me nervous when she was on. Happy I made the move. Plus i sold my harley to my son, so i can still steal a ride if i wan:Coffee:t.

Screwball, you've got me by one year (10-22-46). I've got 9 months to go before my Florida retirement and I'm countin' the days!! :D :Excited:

51! And I bought the trike this year not because I couldn't ride two wheels anymore but because the hubby likes really l-o-n-g rides and the on the Electra Glide I would get too tired. The trike is less work on long rides and makes me enjoy it a lot more.

I'll be 65 in May. The wife 61 next month. We triked our Wing last March as she was having trouble getting off the 2 wheeler. She's had 3 back surgeries. It was either trike it or she was going to quit riding. Wasn't sure I was ready for a trike or not. So we did it...I love it. Only put 170 miles on it today.:D

Just turned 67, Wife is 65. Got the Trike for more comfort on long trips for both of us. We don't feel beat up after a long ride. Still ride the Fatboy around locally, it's my HotRod........

I'm 60 and hubby Alan is 67.
I rode two wheels till an accident [bad road conditions] I was the only woman in Australia to own and ride a Honda ST1300 -- same again with my Yamaha FJR1300 :)
Was riding a Royal Star Venture with sidecar at time of accident. We put a Voyager kit on that bike for me to get back to riding. My legs are damaged, and my right one is stiff. We decided late last year that if I was going to keep riding I needed a trike with reverse on it. Because of our weight ratio laws I had to purchase the 2011 Harley Ultra Classic, register it, then put the Motortrike kit on. This was done where I purchased the bike. Also removed back brake pedal [for right foot] and am using K-Lever on handlebars for both brakes.
The day we picked up the trike I rode it to the shipping agent, and it was on it's way to the U.S.A. :D We spent 31/2 months riding and covered Sturgis, and 25 states ThumbUp We bought a '84 Yamaha Venture for Alan [left it with friends in Utah]
So, I'm bent , buckled BUT still riding :10:
