Help, I have gas coming out of exhaust

had problems with throttle cable, messed with it and got it right but following that I didn't run it. The next day I had gas running down off the heads, coming from exhaust. WHY?:AGGHH::AGGHH:

If fuel tank is above carb, the fuel is going thru carb into the cylinders, filling the exhaust headers. Check the float seat of a good seal at neddle valve. Good idea to have a shutoff valve on fuel line also. JMO

If you have carbs... Most likely a stuck needle valve.. i.e., dirt/crud under it. Very common.
Can't tell you how many times that has happened on one of my ATV or Snowmobile.
Sometimes if you can get the engine started shutoff the gas run the engine at half throttle till the float bowl runs dry... Sometimes that will free the needle valve, :Shrug: If not open the carb up and take the needle valve out and run a thin wire though the seat, I use an acupuncture needle..

First of all I would pull all the spark plugs out and see if they are completely gas soaked.

Then as already stated, it is most likely due to a stuck needle and seat or the float is sinking due to being penetrated with fuel.

What carb(s) do you have on the engine?

You are probably going to have to change the oil as well. Chances are that the fuel made it past the piston rings and has gotten into the oil.

And before you change the oil you can, as I said, pull the plugs. Once all 4 plugs are out crank the engine to "blow" the remaining fuel out of the cylinders. Once that is done, change the oil. Before putting the plugs back in,

be sure they are dry. Now go to your local "cheap" auto parts store and grab a pint size can of Marvel Mystery Oil and squirt a little in each cylinder.

Once your sure what was causing the issue to begin with and you have fixed that it should be ready to fire up.
