It is not spelled out complete enough IMO to include( the owner can do his own maintenance provided he keeps good records and receipts)

I can't tell you how many times I would get from newer service managers" you have no records in our computer of your maintenance's " my reply is I do my own and keep good records

This almost always shuts them up ( I staple extra pages in my owners manuals to record everything I do) my receipts are in a separate folder and backed up by electronic receipts from the dealers

At the local dealership here the recommendation is they do the service ( of Course) BUT if you are going to do it yourself to document all receipts and work done and keep it in the even warranty questions ever arise.
