Handlebar Swap

I am getting ready to swap the handlebars on my 11 trike to move them up and back a bit. Won't know for sure if I need to swap the front brake lines until I decide on the bar and give it a preliminary fit. The question is I was just looking at the brake lines out in the garage and at the diagram in the trike parts book. The brake lines are one piece. There is no junction block, the lines are all permanently attached so there doesn't appear to be a way to extend the upper line. Assuming the line going to the brake lever needs extending, what have you all done to get an extended line(s)?

I fabbed up a set of bars that went up and back (could not find any that put the grips where I wanted them). Overall I had to have a brake line that was 7 inches longer between the master cylinder and the junction box at the bottom of the trees.

I checked with HD, they had no such animal, neither did JP Cycles or Dennis Kirk. Be careful, Dennis Kirk said they did, and they do have an 8" over for the batwing 2 wheelers, but it will NOT work with the tri-glide because of the different rake.

I ended up buying braided lines and connectors and building my own at a cost of around $150

Been working like a charm for the last few thousand miles.

I put set of 12 inch bars on mine -- had to replace the brake lines as well as the clutch line -- Magnum Cables has the correct parts for the brakes and clutch as well -- their super people to work with (talk to Maria ). Got the brake and clutch cables for around $225. I don't have any connection with this company so I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this

You can purchase a longer line from HD by figuring out how much longer it needs to be and go to the catalog and order it. Or you can do what the listing above says go to Magnum Brake parts and build your own. I also have done this with great results.
