I just installed a power-point on the handle bars for a future GPS and/or iPod hookup (See photo below)

As you can see, I already have a very busy area with all of the moto-gauges. I'll probably have to remove the black pouch next to the power-point so as not to block anything.

Any way, I'm rambling here.

What I'd like to know is which GPS is the easiest to use. I've never had one. Keep in mind that I'm not one for fancy technology! Even my cell phone is one of the most basic ones offered. All I need is a reliable GPS that will get me from point A to point B and of course one that's a decent quality.

I'm using a basic Tom Tom One S and it's the first GPS I've ever used so I can't speak for other brands. The entry level one I've got leaves a bit to be desired although it "works". I've heard that Tom Tom doesn't update their maps very well.

I use a Garmin Zumo 550 which is made for motorcycles and even functions when wearing gloves. Comes with all the mounts included for a m/c or even in your car

In the pickup, I have a Garmin Nuvi 1300 for help in finding drilling rigs. I've not tried it on the trike. As much as I have to tell it to quit saying "processing" (or something like that) when I don't follow exact routes.. LOL, it's as bad as the wife, don't know if I want one on there.

Your power point is nice, just like mine :) Kury, 'cept I keep the lighter in mine. Also, looking at your triple tree, is that from XF6? I got one, uninstalled, when I got the trike. PO said it was from there. I've since installed it, made a lot of difference.

I use a Garmin Nuvi. The first GPS I've owned. It's a car one but I bought a universal motorcycle fitting kit from Aldi ( do you have that supermarket chain in the US ?) for $10. Very happy with the set up. Takes me where I want to get to. Don't need any more than that. Got free map updates for the life of the unit included in the deal. Just the sweetener I needed to finally buy a GPS.

I am a very busy real estate appraiser and I can wear out a GPS unit in around 8 months. The keyboards just dont work anymore after they get used a few thousand times. I believe Garmin makes the best GPS out there right now. Spend $150.00 to $250.00 for any one the models in that price range and you will have everything you need,,I am on my 4th one in the last 3 years, but I use them to find anywhere from 7 to 30 adresses everyday. TomToms and Magellans dont cut it!! Garmin all the way.

Garmin makes a number of motorcycle friendly GPS units. Yes the others work but they won't last near as long as the ones ruggidized to withstand the use on a motorcycle. Here's the link..... https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=135

I have the Zumo 660 and really do like it. I have it wired into my GL1800 audio system and have the iPhone bluetooth linked so I can actually stay in contact while riding... Over the years that has been a real God send...

Thanks for all of the replies. It's seems that Garmin is the way to go. ThumbUp

This power-point also has the lighter in it. I didn't even realize that it came with the unit until I opened it, lol.

My triple tree was installed by my dealer 2 years ago. It's a 6 degree Roadsmith. It made a tremendous different in the handling.
