fuel low notication

Can you program gps so it tells you fuel based on mileage like you could in the garmin

Not that I have found but when you get low on fuel a yes/no box appears on the screen asking if you want to go to the nearest gas station.

YES It will tell you when fuel is getting low. You have an odometer location indicator option that tells you miles left to empty (toggle left grip top button).

I was trying to figure out when I use the toggle button above my left hand...when the "r" appears in front of the kms or miles left.
It is "r" (range) telling me that is to empty or to reserve, or is there a reserve on TG's?

With my 11T/G When the low light go's on it reads 30 to go, Then at 10 it counts down 10 and it just reads ''LOW'', I've ridden 18 miles more once when it said low... I do fill the tank right to the very top [nurse it in] I have the strong feeling if you fill it that way right to the very top the tank holds more than 6gal's...

2014 has a funky filler neck and it is not easy to squeeze more in once it tops. You can rock it, and sometimes it burps down ... but be careful trying to get more in.

If you put a DK Custom tank lift kit on, it changes things. I can typically ride till it goes to Low Range, then ride another 10 miles before gassisng up, and it will still only take a touch over 5 gallons. Haven't pushed it further (really don't want to push this thing), but the lift kit changes the angle of the tank, so it reads low a little quicker. Have just never checked my mileage or range on a tankful, I am just having too much fun riding the damn thing!

You all need to remember there is a thing called usable fuel. Especially if you change the angle of the tank. You may not be able to get at that whole 6 gallons. The only way to know is to run it out of gas and have 6 gallons available then to fill it up. What it does not take is the amount of gas that the pickup tube was not able to get out. The amount you did put in was the usable amount.

:Agree:Too much lift at the front will move the fuel to the rear and away from the fuel pump pickup. A person may have another 3 tenths of a gallon left of fuel they won't be able to get at because its at the rear of the tank.

With the Tank lift and the Deluxe option, you will have a full 6 gallon of usable fuel on all years of the Tri-Glides.

On the pre-2014's, as long as you have a deluxe option, and no taller than a 2" tank lift, you will lose no usable fuel capacity.

On my 2011 with tank lift and deluxe option, I filled up several times a bit over 6 gallons.

On my 2014, after I learned about rocking side to side, instead of front to back, I've been able to fully fill up also.

It is not exactly the same plane, but it is level, possibly more level than stock on a 6 gallon tank.

Below is a picture of a 1.5" Tank Lift with the Deluxe Option.

On smaller tanks, and other model HD's there is a small loss of usable fuel, even with the Deluxe option, due to the rear sitting a bit lower with a Tank lift.

On the 2014 I have the 1.5 Tank lift with the Deluxe option. Pulled into a station today a few miles after the low fuel light came on (18 MTE).

Here's a pic I took after filling up, with this thread in mind.
