Was it actually empty or was the gauge just indicating that it was empty?

My 2021 TriGlide warns me when the odometer says I have 30 miles to empty . The display asks me if I want to get to nearest fuel supply, then when I get down to 10 miles left it says LO Range on odometer but does not countdown the last ten. I have driven it past that a couple times and find that I still have about 3/10 gallon left even when gauge is on empty and I’m past like range. Since I know my bike I know 1 gallon is about 32 miles . So 3/10 = about 9-10 miles . I try to always keep it above but seem to keep riding and emptying the tank😁

You, my friend, are living close to the edge (lol). I usually get about 40 mpg - so, around 240 per tank. I also track my gas by using milage and the gauge. So, when I have about 175 or so miles on the tank, I get gas.

If on a trip, I usually stop every 125 miles or so and will fill up.

By the way, if you ever head to Sturgis, I might recommend you consider filling up when the tank is half full. Gas stations can get pretty far apart in some of those areas.

One a trip when my tank hits 3/4 I start getting serious about finding a station. When I go another 15 or 20 miles past that I start sweating. When my dash alerts me "50 miles to empty" I have to pull over and take meds!

Seriously, I never try to run my tank down all the way. I had a tank lift on for awhile and it threw my gauge off so I got used to using the tripmeter. I now have the tank lift off so am back to just watching the gauge and digital read-out which is pretty accurate.

Mine tells me when I have 25 miles and the nav asks if I want to look for a station.
mine is a 2011, it doesn't have the nav. I usually dont let it get below 1/2 a tank, but this once I did and i wondered if maybe the light doesn't work

My '21 Freewheeler low fuel indicator comes on at 50 miles left. The manual indicates that's when it should come on, in my case. The the low fuel kicks in with about 10 miles of fuel left. I've been stuck on an interstate with the nearest gas station 8 miles away. Yeah, that was exciting. I don't do that anymore. :)

As someone said earlier gas stations in South Dakota are rather scarce, I drove mine 2 or 3 years ago at least 20 miles with it saying 0 miles till empty, shocked that we made it to a gas station, 2018 tri glide, I probably get 32 or 33 mpg

Yes sir, I have helped a few guys that ran out of gas.

Your TriGlide only get 32 or 33 mpg; wow, I would have thought your milage was better than mine. I have an Ultra that was converted -so, my trike actually weights more than a TriGlide.

Wonder why? Did you do something to the motor? Mine is stock
