Fender Bras

OK, I finally tracked down some pictures and info on the saddlebag mounting.
First let me say I'm still suspicious of this type of mounting system. I will never trust tape over stud mounting. I was on an old (2012)TrikeTalk post about this product. I can understand why you need to cover almost the whole area with velcro(8" x 12" +or-) to help spread out the holding power, but it looks awful - worse then the leather bra. IMO
Is that all you get for $78 is some velcro and wax remover? or did I read that wrong - probably did.
Every experience I've had with tape was negitive so that's why I question this system. I do not want to trust some expensive items, like a camera etc, to tape. I know the stud system is bulletproof. I've had some luck with velcro tape holding my mike, but in the heat and the pulling force the tape eventually gave way and pulled away from the surface very easily. The velcro did it's job, but not the tape. Just my own personal experiences.
I still don't know how you can get all that holding power and still be able to remove the velcro without damaging the paint.

I just bought some extra heavy duty 3M double back automotive tape and will give it a try. I'm not going to hold my breath especially when I see trim on cars peeling off here and there.
I know tape technology is improving greatly, but it's still tape and I would never feel comfortable holding anything of value. That's just me.
Good luck to you and hope you do well with this idea. Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks. Nothing's impossible. ThumbUp

I wonder how many TG owners have tried this method of fastening the saddle bags on & what they think of it???
I like the idea because you could remove them with no sign of them when you trade & use them again on another TG.

Thanks for the luck! I am hoping we can teach an old dog new tricks because this trick is pretty awesome! Let me clarify a little....for the $78 you get the SEE THROUGH BRAZ protective material that is first put on the bike and then you also get the velcro (this is not your typical velcro you can buy at the store). When put on the SEE THROUGH BRAZ protective material that is the material that adheres to your trike because it is easy to take off when you no longer want it on. The velcro never touches your paint. Thus it is super easy to remove because once you are ready you just take off the protective material so there is nothing left on your trike. The velcro attaching system allows for easy repositioning of saddle bags and allows them to be removed if you don't want them.

I would not recommend putting velcro or tape directly on your trike as it will be a pain in the a$$ to remove. We have this installed on our trikes and it has been on for 3 years with no problems of peeling off. The system has been road tested for 120 pounds below is a picture of someone standing on the saddle bags.

Are you going to be going to the Trike Talk Rally or HOG State Rally in TN?

Yes, I'm planning on the tt rally in Eureka Springs in June.

Awesome! Stop by and see us, we will be there too! We would love to meet you. Al is going and can show you in person how this works and how it is installed. It is a cool product that I think you will be amazed with. That way you can see it installed and how it works!

I have spent a large amount of my adult life perfecting bra removal. ;)
If my trike gets chips and it bothers me enough, I will repaint. Could be a good excuse to go custom.

Seriously, I would just like to not stress about things like this and just go for a ride!

I won't be going to the trike rally. Are you doing any of the International Motorcycle Shows. I'm going to the Chicago one in 2 weeks.
One of the largest bike shows in the country. I think that would be the biggest place in the world to demonstrate/sell your product. That would dispell any concerns people might have - including me. Unfortunately I just bought another set of bags to go on my 2014 TG. They haven't been installed yet(waiting for some warm weather so I can get my bike to the dealer). I really would have been interested. Old dog or not. :)

I've seen an ad or two in some bike magazines of someone standing on saddlebags and thought it was a gimic.

I would love to see how the "protective material" is put on the bike. Is it sprayed on? What holds it to the body? It has to attach somehow.

Do you do any other venues beside the trike rally - like Sturgis, Daytona etc.???

This year we aren't planning on going to the show in Chicago. We are based out of Byron, IL which is really close to you and we would be happy to meet with you to show you how it all works. We could ride over (once it is a little warmer out) and meet you at your HD dealer. If that works shoot us an email at seethroughbraz@gmail.com and we will get it set up.

Sounds like a real winner. We are always riding out that way for some reason. We have a large group that camps for the weekend at White Pines every year and our annual HOG chapter picnic is at Castle Rock State Park.

It's too late for me, but I would still like to see this system you have and maybe a few others members that haven't bought anything yet as well.
I will keep in touch as we get closer to spring.

That sounds perfect! I love White Pines and Castle Rock State Park is really awesome too! Just let us know and we will definitely come out and show you how it works. We also have a few new products in the works for the 2014 Tri Glide that I think you will pretty excited to see too! It is under tight wraps right now but be on the lookout in the next few months! We are pretty excited about it! Have a great day!

I'm always excited when something new comes out for my bike. :D

But usually it's something I really don't need or can't use....or already have something similar. :)

The one thing I've been looking for ever since I got my TriGlide 3 years ago ..... is a holder for my CB mike. Now I have to hang it over my drink holder which interfers with using it.
Like I mentioned earlier, I tried velcro on the gas lid, but the tape just peeled off when I pulled on the mike. Harley has nothing for it......if you also have a drink holder mounted.

Buy one of the small chrome mike clips and thru bolt it to the gas fill lid. If you want to change it later just buy another gas fill lid, they are not that expensive and you could go for one of the theme ones (like "live to ride").

I think we have a solution for you for this and it would be really easy. I am going to send you a pm about this.

Lakeman, I thought about that, but got the gitters just thinking about drilling into anything chrome. ROTFLMAO

I've seen adds for gas lids that have a bracket for your cell phone on it. Maybe that can be converted somehow to hold a mike.

The biggest reason to cover fenders when mounting is the driver using the passenger floorboards or passenger kicks the fenders when getting on We have invented and patented a step between the driver boards and passenger boards that solves these problems and more You can view by googling Trike Mid Step and viewing video on facebook or going to our web site Trike Mid Step People who have bought are very impressed:pepper:
