Just curious, how did you discover they broke? Did you hear a noise while riding or notice it when you returned home? I have been hearing a metalic "clicking" type noise after I've been on the road for 40 minutes or more. Not sure if it is rpm related or wind related because it isn't very loud.

Yep, it clanked bad and I saw the broken piece on my right side of the engine when I got home
