Those of you that have installed a 606 air cleaner on your twin cam HD, did you use the foam gasket that it says to apply to the front side of the filter before attaching your face plate? I have the contrast finned polished round cover and using a new filter. However, I don't have one of the gaskets. I will order a couple of them, but just wondering what it would hurt to not use it. Like I said the flat surface of the cover fits very flush when installed and tightened.

That foam gasket is only recommended to be used when you are using a bobber style cover. With your Finned cover it is not needed.

Here is an installation video, cued up to the point where we are talking about this subject.

Thanks man. I have watched that video before and I understood what you were saying. I just wanted to make sure that it definitely wasn't needed with my cover. Thanks again for the quick reply. I have cleaned this filter numerous times and reinstalled it without a gasket, but for some reason my "getting old and more cautious mind"got to wondering about it. "I always knew I would get old one day, but I never thought it would happen this quickly"

Yeah, we're all getting older...and the time just keeps going by faster! :xzqxz:

Enjoy your ride!
