Disappointed in the CSC Trike kit

I currently have a 2004 GL1800 Lehman trike that I.M.O. looks factory (not like an add on). Unfortunately, I emailed Champion/Lehman this week in which they stated "No plans at this time for kits". I was completely surprised to say the least.

My second choice in a trike kit "was" CSC. I've been waiting for CSC to come out with their kits simply due to looking factory (not like an add on) as my Lehman does. I.M.O. the Viper looks awesome. Actually, I was holding off until the CSC trikes hit the showroom floors before purchasing the new 2018 wing. I've been waiting in great anticipation for a new sportier design to match this new 2018 but.........

Now that I've seen the picture (Pic. below), I'm highly disappointed. I.M.O., the oem Honda trunk looks odd as if it's just sitting on top of the trike kit. In other words, picture a basketball sitting in the center of a square table. I am extremely surprised that CSC didn't make the kit sportier to match the lines of this new wing. I.M.O., the engineers should have spent more time in following the lines/shape making it more tailored to the new sportier look of this wing.

I'm not trying to bash CSC..... I've had two of their cargo trailers and love them and plan on another for this new wing.

I sincerely believe their trike kits and trailers are top quality in build, paint, etc. I have also used their customer support directly which is also top notch.

I do like the lighting on the Encore which matches up real well. In addition, the lighting across the lower rear and ground effects looks awesome. I'm just disappointed in the new upper flat portion of the design. :(

I totally agree 100%......... CSC is awesome! I certainly hope this is just a mock up. I would like to see something close to the lines/shape as the Honda oem trunk given to the top flat portion of the kit. There is no doubt in my mind that CSC could do this..... CSC designer's/engineers have always created beautiful, custom, tasteful matching trike kits and trailers for specific bikes. I.M.O. this mock up (fingers crossed) will follow...... ;)

Basketball sitting on a square table.... exactly the thought I was thinking when I posted “if it were MY design” on another thread out here, posted a few days ago. There is so much wasted space over the fenders.

Maybe CSC will be reading these threads and enhance their design before it goes into production.

I posted on CSC's facebook page that the trunk looks odd on the trike kit. I didn't elaborate like I did here on the forum. I don't want anyone thinking I'm bashing CSC. I'm not..... I think their trikes and trailers are awesome. With this new wing, I.M.O. the kit needs to look more "tastefully" designed other than what we're seeing on the top. As stated earlier I.M.O. the lighting looks awesome..... I do believe that CSC does care what we (rider's) think about their products. I've seen them mention somewhere before that they listen to their customers opinions. I have talked to them a few times in the past in regards to their trailers and they were super nice. :)

CSC and Hannigan have them. Not sure how far into production they are but Hannigan had theres at Daytona?Don't know about CSC.

All I've seen is the pic on internet from the rear. Trunk does not go with fenders, however I'm waiting to see one in person before I decide

I believe they CSC said this only a computer mock up. was on their facebook page as such I'll bet all Trike manufactures, Hannigan, CSC Roadsmith and Motor Trike will do an awesome job on the final production designs. The Hannigan looks killer needs running boards though. Still waiting to see what Motor Trike and Roadsmith will do. Exciting to anticipate.

When I checked CSC's page it was noted that the Encore pic was a "rendering", AKA and artist's conception. I agree about the trunk on the table look. It'll be interesting to see what the other trike manufacturers do with that. Possibly a kit maker will design their own trunk, hopefully large enough for 2 helmets, and offer it as an option in addition to the OEM trunk on the Goldwing Tour. That standard 2018 Wing is more like the F6B, with no trunk. That CSC Encore design on the non-Tour Wing looks like a whole lot of flat behind the passenger seat.

That picture is whats called an Artist Deception ....They might be just raising it up the flag pole to see who salutes it...

 Flat fender area would make good luggage-rack platforms so one could carry more stuff. :xzqxz:

I agree. But, as with the optional luggage rack on the top trunk, one would need to be careful how much weight you put on it to avoid stress-cracking the fiberglass....Unless they would build reinforcement into the area to handle the weight. Hopefully someone will come up with a design to accommodate this.

And, if ANYONE out there is LISTENING...!!! I still want to see a “Harley style” top trunk opening from side-to-side, not forward into the passenger seat... HELLO???!!

Reaching over those wide fenders to reach 100% of the trunk area might be tough for us short people. Like the idea, just don't know how practical it is. :)

:Agree:

My CSC lower trunk and the Honda Goldwing upper trunk both open to the rear of the trike. I find it convenient when both trunk lids are opened at the same time.

Loading and unloading is actually a lot easier, for me, with this set up.

Someone mentioned, in previos posts, that there was wasted space over the rear wheel well fenders. The inside of My CSC trunk runs much wider than the actual trunk lid. The inside trunk space stretches beyond the width of the tail lights. There is about 8 CF of storage space. This is the equivalent storage space of the original two stock Goldwing saddlebags.

This thread reminds me of the Simpsons, In One episode a few years ago Homer takes over his brothers very successful car company...And then he decides to make a car with everything that everyone wants in it.....He called it the Homer....The company quickly went bankrupt...
