I was installing my new Fuel Moto Ceramic Head Pipe. Ran into a problem with the gasket inside the crossover pipe. I damaged the gasket trying to assemble the two pipes. Bought a new gasket, damaged that one too. Anyone have any tricks to put those two pipes together without damaging the gasket.

Yes buy a cheap exhaust pipe expander..Harbor Freight or ebay has them..
Just had the same issue a few months back..
You maybe able also to rent one from your local parts store..
Once you make the diameter larger the gasket fit perfect then..

Yup, anything to expand the end of the overlaping pipe.
There are posts warning about this but they are mostly back in '10 when we flirst started making this mod. I know, lot of reading.
At least the gasket is fairly cheap.

If you have a local AutoZone, they might have a free loaner.
From experience. I try to leave a cash deposit to prevent refund errors.

I've had great luck also expanding the stock HD clamps as well. They always go back on better after re-stretching them out. Don't feel bad, I tore up 2 crossover gaskets before I read in here what to do.

Thanks everyone I went to harbor freight and bought a tail pipe expander. Worked great. I'm just sorry I had to drive 80 miles to buy a $4.30 part again, but I will know for the next time. Thank again I love this web site.

Well I have the exhaust system put together with the Fuel Moto Jackpot 3.5 Dyno Tuned Slash Down Mufflers. I am very happy with this product, but I wasn't done making mistakes. After I finished the assembly. I was cleaning up the pipes and putting away tools and that is when I found a little piece of paper that said "WARNING!" Failure to install these mufflers properly will adversely affect the performance of your bike and void any warranty on this product. The cores in these mufflers are balanced for optimum performance on Harley-Davidson FLH models. To insure that the mufflers are installed correctly, look into the inlets of each muffler. The muffler with the smallest opening into the core must be mounted on the LEFT side of the bike. Needless to say before I ever ran the Trike, I had to take the mufflers off and sure enough I had them on backwards. I'm just glad I found that little white piece of paper or I would have never know they were on backwards. Just some advice for future Mufflers modifiers make sure you read everything before assembly
