Cobra 900s, FP3 and K&N on the way

I ordered the Cobra 900, V&H FP3 tuner and K&N air filter yesterday for Blackie--they will all arrive early next week.

When I talked to my HD dealer about doing the Stage 1 he said that the 900s were just about the best he has seen with a good combo of performance and sound. He has not lead me astray yet I have the FP3 on one of my other bikes now and had one on a previous bike and were very happy with those tuners. I also swear by the K&N and put them on all of my vehicles as the first mod.

Later I'll decide about de-catting and get a serious performance tune but right now this is what my hedr and wallet can handle.

BTW, I got the Cobras on eBay for $309.00; free shipping. They were marked at $399.00 on sale with the final price showing in the cart. Happy with that deal.

Can you share the eBay link you used, I can't locate the on sale ones for 309.00

I'm checking on it. Sorry for the delay, I was traveling.

I'm sorry but this is an example of "right church, wrong pew". (Getting facts mixed up.

I paid 399 for the Cobras but only 309 for the fp3 ( on sale from 399 regular price).
That deal is easy to find and is still available.

My my apologies again.

Installed!!

I just had the cobras, K&M and Fp3 installed at my HD service.

The sound is great. Low throaty rumble and very smooth idle. Not as exciting as the quick response and acceleration evident from the first twist of the throttle. I'm very satisfied with this install.

I also had floorboard extenders and the alarm siren installed

BTW, the front bolts on the mufflers were so tight in terms of clearance that they had to remove the body to make it easier.

I also had a DK deluxe 2 inch tank lift installed and immediately noticed less heat on my legs in the 10 mile trip in 90* heat. The rear cylinder cutout took much longer to come on and did not immediately start again when I came to a stop. I'm going to put on a flexible heat diverter/deflector of my own making from scrap leather taken from an old pair of leather chaps.

They also installed the front strap on the rigid rider backrest mount (the bolts were too short to mount it).

Incidentally when I ordered the deluxe 2" lift kit a sweet lady with the sexiest southern accent called me from DK to make certain that I ordered the correct lift. She asked if I measured the bars and also whether I had mods to the bike. Very professional. I highly recommend working with this company.

I did call her back to let her know how well it worked out and she asked me to send some pics, which I will. (I also had to hear her voice again...)

Pics to follow.

Great day for Blackie and Company.
