Though technically not an island, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay certainly feels like one. It sits on a private bay with plenty of lovely rock formations overlooking the East Vietnam Sea.

The small island of Con Dao, while developing nowhere near the pace of Phu Quoc, may be the next frontier for Vietnam island hoppers charmed by the idea of exploring a beautiful place before the rest of the world moves in. Among the top luxury resorts now open is Six Senses Con Dao.

A lot of years gone by.....I guess they managed to fill in all the craters......

I still have visions of flying night's in a Huey.....And looking down at what looked like the whole country was in flames...:blowup:

I don't think some of it ever goes away. I know it didn't for my late father in law. He saw some pretty bad shit in the Philippines. He was assigned to a flame thrower unit. He and I would sit up talking about it long after the others were asleep. It weighed on his mind till his dying day.

Sure looks like it didn't matter that we had to leave. They seemed to have progressed very nicely. Wonder what it would be like if we had been allowed to stay and finish the job?

Considering that we should never have stuck our nose in to start with ......... After having watched the French get taken to the cleaners, what the hell were Eisenhower and friends thinking ?

They been fighting over there since before WW2......We would have never won, And eventually the corrupt South Vietnamese Government would have collapsed. And there wasn't even one North Vietnamese who was ever coming here to blow up our buildings.....We have been fighting in Iraq' Afghanistan and Syria longer than we were in Nam......And with no end in sight...
