Mornin - going from 4 all the way to 34 this afternoon. Freezing rain and snow in the forecast for 5 out of the next 7 days.

Good day folks! We are back from our infamous Royal Caribbean cruise that was infected with the norovirus. Fortunately, Jeannette escaped. I, on the other hand, was confined to our cabin for two days. Feeling somewhat better now, and glad to be home. Is it spring yet?

We have been having a wonderful time in Orlando welcoming and cuddling our 17th grand baby. Olivia was born this week at 8 lbs 10 oz, and is a sweet treasure! We will be here for several more days, and are treasuring this special time with our daughter, her husband, and beautiful new baby girl.

Leo, we are sorry you had a bad cruise, just like we did a few years ago! WOW, did you get compensation for this cruise? Have you heard what the cause of the illness was? Well, at least you are home and Jeannette will take good care of you!
Hope everybody had a good day!

Leo I thought of you when I saw the news. Then I said what were the chances you were on it or that you were one of the 700. What a shame I know how long you were looking forward to going.

Rosy and John, Yes, this 10-day cruise was a big disappointment. It was to start and end at Bayonne, NJ and stop at four Caribbean ports. We left on Tuesday, and on Thursday at 1:00 a.m. I was sick to my stomach. Found out later that 300 people reported to medical about the same time. The tally went up to 600-700 passengers and crew that day. The CDC was immediately contacted, and sanitation procedures were implemented. With each day, the number of new cases went down substantially. Passengers were no longer allowed to touch any food or utensils. We only stopped at San Juan and St. Thomas. Because I slept all of Thursday and Friday, I developed lower back pains. Was only able to go ashore at San Juan. Ship skipped Labadee and St. Maarten and headed back to Bayonne two days early for sanitation prior to next cruise. Have been under the weather since I first got ill. Fortunately, Jeannette was okay. After a heated meeting with our captain, compensation agreement was negotiated. We got a 50% refund of cruise fare, 50% future cruise credit, another two days future cruise credit for time confined to cabin, refund of taxes and fees for missed ports, and refund of gratuities for last two days. We were also given unlimited use of phones and internet. Folks who required travel assistance got free transportation and lodging. Last two days we were given unlimited mixed drinks at meals and meeting. This incident cost Royal Caribbean a great deal of money. Every effort was made to reschedule missed shows and meetings. Most passengers are pleased with the Royal Caribbean response to this incident. Not sure when we will take another cruise. We are very tired. We have 12 months to use the future cruise credits. It is so nice to be home!
