Chat Room

Thank you for the information! This garage section is approximately 30X30' with hydronic heat in the floors. It will be a 6" pour to hold the 14K lb. lift. I plan to put my 1970 Dodge L-600 which has a rollback bed on it AND my A-100 pick-up on the back of the 600 and lift them up to be able to park underneath. Gotta conserve space! Once I pour this floor, I'll continue to the 22'X21' great room and finally the 24'X36' middle garage floor. The middle garage will house the heating boiler with all of the heating tubes terminating there. All in all it should be the "Taz-Ma-Garage" as my buddies call it! It will have a master suite above the great room AND a "Man Cave" above the middle garage! We've lived in this home for almost 20 years, are blessed with a fantastic view of Canada across the St. Clair River, but never really had much of a garage to work in. Well with my retirement from the fire department, I was able to round up the funds to build my dream garage! So far it's taken two year to get to this point. Our daughter and little grandson live with us so that's kind of shrunk the house down a little. Our daughter required 5 surgeries in the past three years and the Obama care system left us short about $50K. We picked that up so our daughter wouldn't worry or be stressed and could concentrate on her recovery. (She's fine now) Needless to say, I now have to piece-meal the rest of the garage together! Slow but sure, we'll get there!

"F-R-I-D-A-Y".......nuff said.....;)...got Two Local Buddies that are getting Trikes next week...One is getting an 1800 Gold Wing Motor Trike, the Other a Harley Roadsmith Conversion....why, of course I've steered em' here.....ThumbUp

Larry the best news is that your daughter is now healthy. We kind of have a similar situation at home, but all is well.
I would offer a couple of suggestions. Have the hydronic piping air tested to 100 PSI for 30 minutes before you pour the floor and do a thickened slab where your lift post are going to be anchored. The thickened slab will keep your anchor bolts from penetrating the slab and give you some additional support. I have a 10,000# two post lift in my shop on a six inch slab and it now has a hair line crack radiating out from both post. Wish I had your hydronic heat, it's being used a lot in this area now, both commercial and residential.
Good Luck

Well, fall has fallen and slid on by, leaving 34* and a cold rain for Central Texas! That is today's high, totally foreign to us this time of year. More cold and sleet until next week. What's a "wintry mix"? Something unfamiliar here . . . Hope everyone is safe and warm and ready for the holidays.

Best wishes from our house to yours!

Kwputt, I was planning on hooking up a manifold I've made to close the system and leave it charged while the concrete guys are walking around on the tubes. That way I'll know if something breaks. Also I've left two"lanes" open, without foam or heat tubing because I know where the hoist will be (left and right) but not sure exactly where it will end up (fore and aft). So that will give me about 8" of concrete. That should do it! Thank you for your input. I appreciate all comments and suggestions.

Got truck back, yeah pepper only $3900. Now need to find some freight, or head to Pa., for family Turkey Day! Like to do both, but family will win ;)

What did you do to your rig, Big Dog?
BG, I really feel for you, not knowing what cold weather is like. You have gotten "soft" in your old age. Remember when you used to romp in cold weather. It seems like only yesterday.
Poor Nana had rain, it is not suppose to rain in paradise! LOL
Have a great evening everybody.

Actually today was a gorgeous, 80º day, Rosy. Went on an airboat tour, saw dozens of gators, a bald eagle, and multiple other beautiful birds.

I could not believe the wildlife at The Villages. You are correct Nana, gators, ibis, sand crane, bald eagle, white heron, blue heron, ducks, geese, and all sorts of small birds. You have to be careful, because at times the sand cranes are in the golf cart paths. You are going 20mph and make a corner and here they are! Yikes!
I don't know if Janice could do an airboat, she has vertigo, and at times it really kicks in, but I would love to try it.
Playing golf here in NH right now is very chilly and today was chilly and wet. Florida would be in the 80s and sunny.
Good morning TT Land!

Hey Big Dog. What did you do? Take your truck to a Harley dealer? Ouch! Anyways, enjoy your turkey day. We are flying to Tucson for the same.
Hey Rosy, if you play golf this time of the year, do you call it a turkey instead of a birdie?

Had to put in a set of new injectors, can't do just one especially with 768,000 miles on the originals. Just bounced up to Milford,De., hope to load early part of week, go to sister's for turkey, back to Milford get trailer and go back to work.
Have a great time in Arizona, Bozo, make sure that the wifey doesn't trip on anything, we don't want any more staples :qpnmt: :D

We're glad you got your truck fixed and are "on the road again". Have a wonderful Holiday with your family. If you are up this way in the next couple of weeks, be sure to check in as I'm off work a week or two due to rehab from a "knife in the back" (back surgery :)). Clancy's, Schneider's (or wherever) awaits our arrival... Give Miles our regards :D  .

It was another gorgeous 80º day. But the best part of the day was getting to go in and watch a 3-d ultrasound of my next granddaughter, Olivia, who is due to be born 9 weeks from this weekend. Such joy!

Nana,

Premature :Congrats: on becoming a grandmother again. You can't ask for a better Christmas gift than that!
