Slept till noon, hearing rain! All night, all day, soft and gentle, just what we needed! Only 72* at 1pm. Flowers all beat down, but they'll come back. Lovely day, but I can see that a little goes a long way! Went outside with John and walked around in it! Rose bushes in standing water, but they like it. Hibiscus (hibisci?) blooming in spite of rain. Sprinklers off for the first time in months! Loving the temps!

Sure hate to hear about the officer being shot in Killeen, Nancy . Stories like that are so sad!

Yes, we hadn't had a city police officer shot and killed in Killeen since 1917! He left a 4- year old daughter & a 1- year old son. Services at our civic center Thursday. Thousands expected.

My heart aches for that young family!!!!

Unfortunately even the small towns can't escape the violence. And a young family pays the price. So sad.

Not so small, Bud - our metropolitan area has 420,000 people, not including the 50,000 troops at Fort Hood. We have a remarkable police force and first responders. This is a sad day for all of us in Central Texas.
