My Mom has been in a Nursing Home Re-hab for about 3 weeks now...yesterday She spiked a fever of 103+, heart rate went over 200, blood pressure at 196 over 123...had to be rushed by ambulance to the Hospital....spent all day there until about 8:30 last night....got Her stabilized, checked in, and determined a urinal tract infection is the culprit.....probably 3 to 4 day stay, then looking like maybe a "full-time residence" at the Nursing Home.....:(

Prayers up for your mom skuuter.

Skuuter, I'm so sorry to hear she is so ill! A UTI can usually be corrected fairly easily, but without the urgently provided care at the hospital it can also end up a critical illness! So glad you got her in right away. Hugs to you and Mitzi, and prayers going up for you both and for your mom.

Mike and I just came in from a 100 mile ride just to enjoy the beautiful afternoon. Our plan was to explore County Road 13 along the St. Johns River…. and we did eventually get there. We didn't go as far as we had intended. You see, we inadvertently turned onto OLD 13 (AKA Old Brick Road), and it was an adventure: 20 miles on nothing but sand between swampy areas with regular patches of old brick peeking through. Fortunately it had rained earlier in the day, so much of the sand was pretty well packed down, but there was enough loose, thick stuff to keep it interesting! 20 miles at 20 mph later and we joined the REAL CR 13 and continued our initial, but now abbreviated plan.

That ride along the river is really pretty! Live oaks draped with spanish moss make much of the road a shaded tunnel, and every home along there, from cottage to big custom estates, has a dock and boat. We didn't see enough of it, so we will have to head that way on the right road from the beginning. That's ok, we had a blast despite the mistake, and it's good to know that the trike handles all of that stuff just fine! The soft areas were a bit harder on Mike and his two wheels!!! LOL!

Mom - and you n Mitzie -will be in our prayers. It's always tough when you have to make big decisions , but you have lots of folks helping with support. Call if we can do anything at all . . .

Sorry to hear about your Mom,Skuuter. I am going through much of the same thing including UTI 's with my mom. She was in rehab also, but is now here with us on the farm, but it is an adventure everyday. Prayers for you and Mitzi.

Skuuter, Janice and I will be thinking of you and your Family and we pray everything turns for the better.
I am sure as we get older, our parents lives are in our hands and we will try to do the best we can for them. Some of the decision we make will tug at our hearts, but we must do our best to make them comfortable for the rest of their lives.
Good night to all!

We are going north for about 3 weeks for Christmas and New Year traditions with family, then will return here until Spring. I'm kinda liking having the ability to ride any day we want to!!! I've never loved cold weather :D.

Yeah, we are going home for three weeks then to New Mexico to see Family. Will be gone till after the new year. But, NM is about as cold as NH, go figure. They are in the high plains, about 4,000 feet, so it is colder there.
Nana, don't tell Janice you are coming back, she may offer to carry your bags, so she can be down here! LOL.
Have fun, kids and enjoy your day!

Rosy it is wonderful up here, sunny and 85, wink, wink. Can not wait for next week, the European weather model shows about a foot of snow here, yikes. I guess I will find out if my new HD heated boots really work, ya I ride in the snow too, never said I was the sharpest tool in the shed! After checking in earlier I walked outside to head to work and the temp was 32 not 37, but hey it is that time of year. I am just waiting for Sherry to concede so we can move to Florida, might just as well keep dreaming, you never know what life throughs at you. Well, I gotta go count and login 2000 tickets for tomorrows drawing for a new HD Sportster or 7 grand in cash, should be a very hectic day that will begin around 7:00 am tomorrow morning.

Y'all be safe!!!

Good morning folks! Posted a thread under General Bike Forum that should have gone under General Discussion. Have no idea how to fix this. ;)

Leo, I don't think it's any "big deal". Anyone who clicks on "New Posts" gets all new posts from all forums. If it's a concern, re-post where you want it with a link to the original.

Hope you find lots of Bluebonnets... :D ThumbUp

Aaaaahhhhh. Just the way a bike shop should be run. The independent shop replacing belt, pulley and stator (while in there I figured that might save me abuse in near future) called me at 5:30pm to say the TG was all together. He just needed to test ride it to make sure all alignment is good and work up bill and it will be all ready to pick up tomorrow. Nice to get that heads up. I probably don't want to know the cost without sitting. But I know it will be cheaper than HD. I did a suprise drop by to look at the innards. Can't believe how absolutely complicated replacing belt and pulley is. TG was up on lift within 24 hrs of my bringing it in. Delays waiting for parts. HD doesn't stock squat. Belt is standard one from 2-wheeler. I can't believe nothing heavier duty is used.

I heard those belts wear like iron, how many miles on the belt you replaced?
Is there a set mileage you can expect from your new one?
Great to hear you will have your ride back. How about the two wheeler, is the insurance working on a figure to replace it!
