I just stopped at the roadside an now my bike won't start.. No lights,no dash no nothin. Got juice at the battery but nowhere else. I'm quite a few miles from home. Anybody have ideas?

I feel your pain. My starter relay went out last Saturday half way through a ride. At least I could push start mine to get home.

Not being a smarta--,but have you checked the kill switch. Sorry about the trouble. GOOD LUCK

Number One cause, Number Two is a Kickstand Switch....usually bridged when building a Trike.....ThumbUp

On my little bike, I took it to work, turned off. Went to restart it to move it to another spot DEAD The battery was stone cold dead , would not even take a charge. Mind you it stated 4 times earlier in the day, it was on the trick<br />

I've heard of that.... Something about the terminal seperating from the battery internally. If he hadn't made a point of saying the battery was good I would have included that in my suggestion..:xszpv:

Ok y'all, I'm back on line. There we were just south of Columbiana,Ohio on our way to the big flea market at Rogers.Ohio. Pulled off the road to go into a store-trike was running great. Turned off trike,was in store no more than 30 seconds. Did not even take key out of the ignition. Came back turned key and NOTHING! Hooked my air compressor direct to the battery and it ran like a champ. Checked fuses in side panel as well as I could. Removed seat ,looked around and wiggled wires and checked connections as well as I could-nada. By this time it was 3:30 or so.
Called the only car rental place in Columbiana-no cars available until maybe after 5:00 or so. Told rental I needed a car for only about 4 hours to go get my Yukon and trike trailer,no dice ,have to rent all weekend for around $143 because they close until Monday. Here comes the fun part-- Two guys pull into the parking lot,one on a Harley and one on a 30 year old Honda VR45. These two guys live on the west side of Cleveland. They were riding together but were going to split up shortly. The guy(Gary) on the vr 45 offered to give me a ride to my home 60 miles EAST of Cleveland. So I left my wife at the store and jumped onto the back of that crotch rocket for the approx. 50 mile ride home. Both guys (both Garys) ended up taking me home.
First time on the back of a bike since high school more than 50 years ago,scared me half to death but he is a great rider and got us there safe and sound(except for my knees, which may never straighten out again!). Drove back ,loaded trike onto trailer and spent the night in our travel trailer at White Thorn Lodge(google it). Trike is now in my garage still dead. I will call the honda shop Monday to try to set up an appointment. Hope it works out because we planned to ride to Nuevo Progresso,Mexico in three weeks for some dental work. Thanks one and all for the advice-you people are GREAT!!

Thank for the update Terry! Sure hate that you have to send the trike to the doctor.... Hopefully things will come out well. Please let us know what they find. Others experiences are good education.:xszpv::xszpv:

I still vote ( put my money on the battery ) see above story. When my little bike was dead the lights worked. You can have volts and no Amps. Only way to check is with a load tester. Does the horn blow. A friend came to my house. Turned off his bike. Was dead. The radio worked. Turn signals worked but air horn would not blow. Try jump starting it off car. Don't start the car. Hook it up and hit the starter button. Just for a Ho ho's

Boy do I feel Stooopid---Gold Stars to all who said battery! I went out this morning and tore everything apart again checking fuses, switches, etc. Just on a whim I charged up an old mc battery and jumped to the trike. Voila! Bought a new battery and all is well.
I still do not understand how there was enough juice in the battery when I was stuck along the road to run my air compressor hooked direct to the battery (twice testing) but not enough to even show on the voltmeter or the clock.
Maybe it will have to be one of lifes little mysteries. Thanks again to all for your advice and concern

bat-trees can do that 
(go into auto zone or like and ask for a bat-tree)
had one a while bat .... could be riding along bike would hicup... be fine for a while .... found + and - side of both coils loose... gotta be it nope.... then driving along and volt meter go to zero ... circuit breaker resets start it does it again...but all though this it would start fine.... finally put in a new battery... end of issues

Volts is amount ( 12, 6 ) Amps is Pressure. Think of it as water. A pump pumps water out ok if the hole is laying flat . Now raise the hose. The higher you raise it the less water comes out. Your compressed is 1 foot high hose your starter is 20 feet. Headlights are 4 feet etc. a totally dead battery will light a small tail light bulb but won't play the radio. Also your compressor will run on 11 volts maybe even 10. If you got a jump start on the road it would have taken u home. This is a tip for someone else in this situation. Track down a Big Job Lots type,Harbor Freight store or K Mart, even at Lowes we sell a jump battery. Connect it to your battery and bungee it to the rear seat or have co rider hold it. You can then go home. When you get home buy the battery. ( u won't get screwed buying it at a high price just because it is the only one available. ) I say the Jump battery because it it is an alternator problem you can stop every 20 miles or so and plug it in. Just disconnect all you accessory fuses( headlight ,tail light 'radio ) On the pluses side you will have a jump start battery to keep in your car or bike to use later. They sell for $35.00 to $50.00
don't feel bad . I had to go rescue a Harley guy stuck 50 miles away. Had to drive my trailer to get him. He sat in the sun for 2 hours because his bike was stuck in 1 st gear and 2nd would not shift into 3rd . Turns out one drop of oil on the stuck shifter cured it. The lever was not dropping after he shifted. And this guy was a fitness machine repair man.

My battery went bad last year right after I bought the trike. Wife and I went for a ride one day and last minute decided to stop at a local fair. We were in slow traffic for a few miles, had the lights and radio on but didn't realize the battery wasn't charging, I had turned down the idle too much.
Got to within 20 feet of the gate and it died and was completely dead. Fortunately son was just behind us so we left the trike at the gate and later went back, still had to jump it. Later at home it started fine the same day but was low enough the next day where it didn't start.
Put a new battery in and adjusted the idle up, checked charging voltage and all was good after that. Even started fine this winter with the sub zero nights we had.
Typically lead acid starting batteries will not recover 100% if you drain them down all the way, so when they are on the way out, it doesn't take too much to get to a point where they are useless. Don't feel that way. Believe me, you are sure not the first to be deceived by that battery. I probably would have been right there with you. Part of my tool kit is a light set of jumper cables. Never know. I've used them a few times on other bikes but never on my own.

had one on a friends bike a few years ago in the Ozark woods that quit .(a lot like your deal). we checked wiring all over ...........nothing wrong . after about an hour on mis-diagnosis, I told him just for grins lets take the batt. cables off and clean the connections.- started right up ! This has become my first spot to check.

Had that happen to me. Battery showed 12 volts with volt meter. But when a load went on it, nothing. Bad battery. Also, you have a 30 amp main fuse (i think 30) at fuse box. If blown, you won't have anything. Hope that helps.

I stand corrected. I explained it wrong.
All I know is a 12 volt flash light battery won't start your bike. You need amps. Reason we néed such a large AMP. Battery. A battery can have 12 volts but loose its amps. It can also drop a cell and end up a 10 volt battery.
