I'm already looking at floorboard extenders and a Crotch Cooler but would like more input on fans and ways to reduce oil temps as well as keeping the heat away from me.

I would 1st.discuss it with your dealer & verify that all systems are working properly, being a new trike.

Next, I would click on the Love Jugs link on here and go from there. The founder here, Papa Zook, can help you out.

Welcome to TT.

I can verify the Mighty Mites fans have lowered my M8 engine temperature at least 30 degrees

I am betting the larger Love Jugs fans would lower the temp even more;)
Jack I believe the Mighty mites are the best. I think it has been proven. However they are without a doubt the best heat management tool we could have purchased. PaPa Zook did us well.... ride safe Fred

I would suggest giving DK Products a call. Along with the mighty mites I bought from Papa Zook I added some other items from DK which would be oil cooler/relocation kit and tank lift (1.5 inch). This summer on the hottest days the combination of these items kept the highest oil temps at around 235. I own a 2016 103 T/C. Welcome aboard. I am not a rocket scientist so keep in mind I am just an old scooter tramp that went to 3 wheels. hope that helps.

Here is a chart on the Love Jug Mighty Mites that you can get from Zook at this LINK.

As you can see, the Mighty Mites cool a bit better than the other versions of the Love Jugs.

Love%20Jugs%20Fans%20Temp%20Comparison.jpg

Key to the above chart:

Amb= Ambient Temperature at the time of the testing

CHT= The front cylinder head temperature as measured by the OEM factory sensor, and displayed on the Power Vision as ET

FC= Temperature measured with a heat gun, directly behind the spark plug on the Front Cylinder

RC= Temperature measured with a heat gun, directly behind the spark plug on the Front Cylinder

The fans do a very good job at cooling down the engine temps. There are additional things you can do to get the temps down even more, for better performance AND Comfort. You can see a full Report on why and how to cool down your Trike at this LINK.

Does doing a stage one mod with your air breathers and pipe and exhaust upgrades help any with the heat?

Thanks

You can also receive some benefits by adding a set of DK Custom's Cooling Deflector Wings for the trike. I have these, the Footboard Extensions and the Tank Lift w/Deluxe Lift Kit.....will also be installing DK's Oil Filter Relocation Kit in the next couple of weeks.

Just recently installed the Mighty Mites for upcoming summer cooling duty.

Tony,

Adding a set of the patented v-twin Love Jugs fans is for sure the single best method of controlling heat while riding and is the only way to manage heat while inching along in stop and go traffic. Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.

Yes, a good Stage I will help reduce the heat. It will also improve power and increase engine longevity.

You can see a full Report of all you can do to decrease heat, and approximately how much each decreases the heat at this LINK.
