2017 Dyna Towpac E-trike conversion. Bank angle sensor occasionally shuts bike down. Is there a fix for this?

Do you know if the Body Control Module will have to be replaced with one from a HD Trike and mated to my ECM? Or can they just re-flash my current BCM?

Worse case look and see if a Harley trike might have the sensor that will replace yours. It was a long time ago so I don't remember the part number but I replaced the sensor on my 2007 converted road King with one from a 2010 TRI Glide. Those were pre Harley doing their own builds on the TRI Glide. 09 and 10 were Lehman modified conversions installed on Factory Harleys sent to them then back to the factory after they were finished for sale.

Thanks. I will eventually contact my dealer and see if they are willing (Liability issues?) to reprogram it. Stay tuned. I t might be a while,. Still a work in progress.
UPDATE: Phoenix area dealers won't touch it. Liability ??? Corporate policy? Suggested that I find an independent dealer. My regular dealer here recommended a local Indie Shop with a different type of scanner. Guess that I will try them this week to see if their scanner can help.

Corporate policy and liability issue - I guess I understand. We want things done however, should something happen, some folks are quick to bring a lawsuit.

I wanted an Avon tire for my trike. Went to one dealer - was told his supplier was out. So, I gave them the place that I saw it and was told, since this was not his supplier, he could not order it.

So, I said, no problem, I can order it and have it here in just a few days - when can you install it. It was then that I got the answer - we will not install parts that we don't sell - liability issues.

Since then, I have had a CB installed, new lights. 10K and 15K miles checkups, that tire and a few other things - all at another dealership.

Getting ready for my 20K checkup - guess where I am going.

It's up to the shop probably 99% one the time you won't have a problem installing customer's part, but it only takes one to bit you. Then when customers find out that the shop will install the parts why should he by the parts from the shop when you can buy them online and save a lot. There is no easy answer for this. Back to the original question find a shop with a Techno Research scanner and they can put it in trike mode. If you go on their site they had a list of shops that have their scanner.

UPDATE: Lucky Strike Cycles (Indie shop) in Tempe has the Techno Research Scanner. He just called me and said it's been set to "Trike Mode". And all seems good. I will pick it up tomorrow. He was happy to service it and said he would be happy to help with any future issues as well. Good Guy and great service. FYI: My local HD DEALER Service Supervisor quietly suggested this shop to me when their hands were tied as far as doing the job. Cudos to them too.
