Air Leak in my Airride System

Hello all, I have a 97 goldwing with a Motor Trike straight axle conversion. The trike has 125,000 + miles and 50,000 since the conversion. I am loosing 10 to 20 lbs of air from the airride system a day. I've used bubbles on all the fittings, the bags , the pump and the regulator with no bubbles after several tries. I used an ultra sonic gun from work that we use to find air leaks in the systems there and found nothing. I know the system is small but after airing to 50/60 lbs I thought it might show up in one of the two ways above mentioned. This one has me stumped. I ride 2 up and drag a trailer a lot of the time so air is important with the straight axle. If any one has had this problem or has any ideas I am open for any help I can get.

Try the pump it up to max trick to make sure everything is set, leave over night then let out to your desired value. See if that takes care of it. Has quite a few other times.

Here is what i found after meny tryes with soap and water. The top band had some problems. Slow small bubbles above this top ban, Yes and on the back side. Out of the way almost did noy see. Pressure made no dif. 30-70 Now I am looking to replace the air bag.

i put these on my motortrike instead of the motor trike airbags..the ride difference is fantastic.. old airbags i had to maintain 40 psi or the trike would bottom out in dips. also made for a rough ride on rough roads..

these new bags i maintain anywhere from 15 to 18 psi. no more bottoming out and the ride is great. even on a rough road it's 100% better.

one thing to keep in mind. these new airbags are twice the size as the old ones.

and are only 1/4 inch from the tire.

if your rear is centered i see no problem if you install these and your rear isn't centered.

you will know right away.

iv'e had these on mine for 3000 miles now and have had no problems at all. if these ever go bad i will buy another set..i'm done with the wimpy bags motor trike uses..

another thing is..before buying these airbags i bought a set of the new and improved motor trike bags..they were plastic top and bottom instead of being metal. i installed them and the bolts they supplied went right threw the bottom peice of the airbag. forget about them holding air after that.

another thing about these new bags.. they take the same fitting as the motor trike bags.. so no need to run new airline or tubing. Btw i ran these bags with the oem tire size for 1000 miles and had no problems. i had to install new rear tires for a trip i was taking and went with a size smaller on the width. so i'd had just a tad more clearance between the bag and tire.

One other thing you might try is put some weight on the seat while you are testing. Even 50 lbs might make a difference in how your test works out.

I was losing all my air about 2 weeks ago and looked at everything.
Someone suggested to pump it up to and I did.
To 80psi and left it be at least 18 hours.
I did this 2 times.
Its been fine since.

Yep...sometimes airing the system up to a really high level re-seats everything, and it holds a seal again....Cheapest Fix available if it works.....;)

i had a air leak on my motor trike took it back to dealer they contacted motor trike turned out air pump leak inside sent new one prob solved turns out they had a lot of defective ones 06-1800
