I was talking to a fellow GL1500 trike guy yesterday who said he was considering replacing his rear shocks with Air Bag Suspension which he considers a better ride and simple (psi) adjustment to suit.
Although on the face of it the idea sounds good I must admit but in the unlikely event one of the bags somehow gets punctured or even fails totally he could be in for an interesting ride especially at speed.
I once fitted Secondary Airbag Suspension to my motorhome (RV) but it was in conjunction with the standard leaf springs.
Anyone come across this idea before?

Not a good idea in my opinion

Having seen what happens with just a minor leak on a BMW X5 I recently had in for bag replacement

I have to agree with this. As a secondary setup, maybe. I have airbags fitted on my pickup truck to aid when towing my toy hauler and they work well helping.

I will say that many suspension airbags seem to be pretty durable and can be put through a lot.
