Looking to replace rear tires soon, not due to wear , but because they are 7 years old. I am looking for something with the softest ride.
Any advice on what to buy will be welcome. Thanks.

Goodyear have always been top contenders…. But personally, I’ve never had good luck with Goodyear tires on passenger cars & trucks, so I’m simply not going to patronize them.
Keep in mind there are still quite a few (maybe a dozen or more) tire manufacturers that make this size (15”) for most Tri Glides.
I personally went with BF Goodrich Advantage Control and have zero complaints!

Again, I’ve heard many good things about Goodyear Assurance tires for our trikes (along with Michelin too), so you do have some great choices.
Hopefully others can chime in with other brands too.
For Me… I like my BFG’s.

Keep in mind, a lower tire pressure around 20-22 psi helps a lot too!IMG_0736.jpegIMG_0733.jpegIMG_1173.jpeg

When I get to swap mine, Michelin will be my #1 choice. Then maybe Cooper touring. Apparently they both have the softest sidewalls.???

Looked at lots of different choices as my rear tires need changed before a trip. I went with General tires Altimax rt45.
Trusted my tire guy’s opinion.
Rims a their shop now. Hope to pick up today.

I toyed around with the idea of different brands earlier this month when I changed my rear tires out. However, I figured the OEMs had given me good service and traction for over 5 years and 52,000 miles so I settled for another set.
Nothing wrong with the Signature tires.

Thank you to those who replied. Since the Goodyears I like do not come in 15 inch, it will be Michelin or BFG.
Cooper tires are very hard to find where I live ,but the soft sidewalls sound nice.

I’ve been considering these tires, too. Tell us about your experience with them so far.

Glad you had a good ,safe trip! You were leaning towards the Cooper and Michelin tires due to the softer sidewalls. What convinced you to try the Generals?
I had been looking at the BF Goodrich that 14TG used but they seem to be discontinued.

Any more advice or recommendations on rear tires? I would welcome any comments if you have replaced your Dunlops with another brand. Thanks for any help you can offer on this decision.

I run my rear tire pressure about 19 psi. when the wife rides with me. What a comfortable ride. Gas mileage suffers though!

I’m happy with them. 1400 mile trip in August as well as local riding. There was one portion of roadway leading to a bridge that was really grooved and the tires sort of tracked the groves and gave some wobble. Rainy trip and they handled the rain and water fine.

I put Yokohama Avid Ascend LX on my Freewheeler about a month ago. Got a little over 1K on them so far, very pleased. They ride better than the oem originals imo.

Thanks for the post, I have a feel'n that it's time for my rear tire change, will be this come'n ride'n season.. I have the stock tires still on my TRIKE, with what the trike build'er put on.. (3 or 4 seasons ago)
