Took my first ride after returning from Maggie Valley and riding with some of the boys. Motorcycle Mike, Zammy, Posse Rider, Mark H and anybody else's name I forget I apologize. While out and about I hit a few minor bumps and heard a clunk in the back end. First on one side then on the other side. Thought to myself I know what that is. When I get back home I grabbed a hold of the luggage rack on the tour pack and gave it a little shake. Clunk clunk clunk. Pretty sure it's pan hard rod. I just happened to have a new set of ends in my toolbox. I don't think it's going to hurt anything to wait till winter to pull that body off and change. But I will keep my eye on it. 35,000 miles

I put the Tri glide up on the lift remove the wheels and check it out. No lateral movement at all. I do have a little bit of rotational movement where the clevis is a bit sloppy on the mounting stud on the left side. Other than that I find no issue. I think that's the noise I'm hearing, when you spin the pan hard rod itself front to back.

I have had panhard ends go bad...but, a similar noise can also be the Axle Bearing Retainer Plate, as I discovered prior to my ride to Bella Coola.

It looks like I'm going to be replacing the rotors and the pads when I do the hard pan rod. The discs are scored pretty good. I guess it's time.
