88 Blazer Trike

While working out with my son last night in the garage we were looking at the trike on its side and I noticed something.

The straps I have holding it in place I do not think they are reversible, So I cant let the trike down easily with the straps.

I'm headed out to get some Argon today so I will look for reversible straps. If I cant find any I may have to order online.

I could use the floor jack to lower it down but to be safer I would like reversible straps

Got my ratchet strap and Argon. On the way to get the Argon I saw a truck for sale and bought it also. 2014 Ford F150 2 door with a 8 foot bed. I have been looking for a truck for some time but all I was finding were 4 door trucks with short beds. I wanted a 2 door and 8 foot bed and finally found one the was in good shape, low mileage and in my price range.

I have braces on my feet and legs and the truck has more foot room. The side steps it had were to small and with my braces made it hard to use. I built 1 new one so far, its big enough for me to step on but does not come out past my side mirrors.

I was able to get some more welding on the Trike frame but not a lot. Today it was just to hot.

I took a ride on my other trike today. Everyone loves that thing. Lots of kids came up so I handed out these small skulls/faces I 3D printed. I keep a bunch of them on the trike to give out to the kids.

I have a night of boxing tonight. I cant move like I used to but I can still throw punches and I do "Cane-Fu"
I have lost over 60lbs doing this and dieting.

I had to replace a electrical outlet in the house today. I normally have a hard time lying on the floor doing it on my side. I haven't replaced one for a long time. Doing it today after I lost all that weight was so much easier than it was before

My welder started welding like crap today. I fought it for a while adjusting voltage and wire speed. Didi not work.
So I ended up cleaning the ends of the welding cable, blew it out with the compressor and shot some lube down it
I got it working real good then it was to hot to do anymore

Im 3/4 done with the 1st pass on this side.
The 2nd pass I will check it again and do what fabrication I still need to do
Then I will spin the trike around and do it all aging on the other side

You have been busy

I have wanted to get back out and work on my trike but the Ol'Lady won't let me. I had a medical issue the other day and I have been grounded to my chair watching TV. I am tired of sitting here watching stupid TV. Cant even do my exercise.
Saturday I will be off my grounding.

I hear ya! Broke my hip and grounded me for some time, told her I was going out to ONLY LOOK, that didn't work, :ROFLMAO:

Now that the heat has let up I was able to get out and work on the trike. I thought I finished all the welding and fabrication I needed to then found 1 more bracket I needed to fabricate. I will do that the next time I can get out there.
Then I have to go back over it 1 more time to ensure I did not miss anything, clean up every thing and put some primer on it just so it will not rust.
Then I flip it onto the other side and do it all over again.

I did finish that brace and started the cleanup but I had to quit. I did not sleep Saturday night. Saturday is our big workout night and I stepped up a weight in several exercises.
Not going to have time today to work on the Trike.
The next time I do work on it I should be able to finish the cleanup of the 1 side.

Its on its other side now. I marked it up everywhere I can see that needs some work/welding/cutting/fabrication
If I was to make the rotisserie again I would do it a little different. The main thing would change is i would link the 2 end with 4 2x4s. Rotating the trike to the other side shifted the rotisserie around some.

I started working on this side now. Its still hot out and I cant have the fan blowing on me because it affects my welding. I assume it blowing the shielding gas away. It took me a few to figure out it was the fan causing the issue.
Going on a ride today, have to work on a 3D printed wolf head and a spider Tattoo.
Years ago in while I was stationed in Germany I dated this girl for a few months. She lived above a pub I used to go to. She had spiders as pets. I hated them but she was very hot. She was about 5'9" or so black hair and very well built. So I put up with the spiders.
One night we got ahold of a Tattoo kit and she gave me a Spider Tattoo. It has faded and all the color has gone away. I am getting it dressed up and recolored.
I ended breaking up with her because I just could not stand the spiders any more.

I'm also getting a couple tattoos on my hands.
Back when I was young I was in very good shape and loved to box. Well life happens, I got married and fat. I went up to 245-250 lbs. Never thinking it would happen I would tell people if I ever got down to 200lbs I would get IRON on one hand and STEEL on the other. Well I am down to 180lbs now and work out at least 4 times a week. I throw thousands of punches every week.
So I am getting those tattoos also with a little change

RUST because I am old now and COPPER because I practice my martial arts with my cane that I made out of copper
I like the 2 versions in the pic above. I have not decided which ones I will get yet.
Getting the Tattoos on August 14

Good on you, pics of the tattoos when you get them
I told my wife of 45 years I was getting 2 gears meshing on top of my head, she said go ahead and I will divorce you, Nuff Said

Here is what is left of the old Tattoo.
My Ol'Lady put some paper on it and traced it the best she could. Its on my left sholder Remember we had no Tattooing experience, were wasted and had been parting all night with that said it did look a lot better 35 years ago

Thanks for the idea!
I just told the Ol'Lady the same thing. I told her I change my mind on the tattoo. She did not like that. I guess i am back to my original tattoo ideas

here are the 3D wolf heads I am working on.
The 1 on the right I have merged with a blank ford emblem and once its painted and clear coated I will mounted on the front of my truck.
The other 2 I am using as practice before painting the 1 I really want. After I have the 1 mounted to my truck the other 2 will be put on trees in my woods
You can see that the 2 practice ones I had some settings wrong when I printed them

I was able to get some more work done on the trike the other day. Still a lot to do.
The Ol'Lady has grounded me from the shop until after we get back from the beach. She says she does not want to take the chance of me getting hurt before we go.
On the trike there are 2 spots that really look bad. Not week just ugly. There must have been something big welded on each side there. I tried to clean it up and hide the ugliness on 1 side but made it uglier. Again not week spots just ugly. I have not decided what I will do. I guess I could just cover them up with some steel.

Started back to work on the trike yesterday. getting ready to go back out again today.
A while back I removed the leaf springs and installed coil springs. I cut the brackets off but they look like crap so I am no making and welding on coverup plates.

My welder is working a lot better now that I replaced the feed roller.
Funny thing is I was having the same issue on my 3D Printer and had to replace the feed mechanism on it also (its working now also)

Welder is still working good.
I finished all the basic welding on this side now. I just need to make 1 support brace and then do a good cleanup and primer.
Then I have to flip it back to the other side and make the plate and brace for it.
After that I should be able to turn it right side up and start remounting things

I wish it was going faster but one thing or another keeps getting in in my way
Yesterday my welder was welding real well but today its not feeding again.
The feed motor clicks but does not turn. I am trying to find a new feed motor assy and while im at it a new gun also but im having a hard time finding the correct parts.
I have a Lincoln Pro Mig 175.
its over 20 years old but has worked good all this time until now. If I cant find the parts I will invest in a new welder.
