Just picket up a 63 vw chassis + engine,no body, all in fair condition. My question is has any body made a trike using the tunnel and pans?if its possible. If so any ideas or pictures.

Not sure what you mean by "Tunnel and Pans". I have a '70 VW trike. Original engine, tranny and rear axle mounted into a frame of unknown origin. Uses original 4-speed shifter located under my left leg. I'm not the original builder of my trike, but if you are looking for any close up pics how things are mounted, just drop me a PM. Note mine doesn't have any kind of body over it.
Anyways, good luck with project.

I think what he means is when you remove the body you are left with a floor pan and the tube the shifter and wires go through to the front.
I don't think is strong enough to support the weight.

I have to agree with John. I've seen 'em built that way, but the "good" ones were pretty heavily reinforced underneath. Just my opinion, but I'd start at the rear clip and build my frame forward, without the "tunnel and pans".

Merry Christmas!
