2014 TG SMS texting through Infotainment Center

New 2014 TG. Attempting to set up SMS texting through IPhone so that I can review as needed. Keep getting an SMS error, tried on IPhone 4 and my father's IPhone 5 - same results. Bluetooth for phone works fine. Both IPhones have IOS 6. Hard to believe IPhone not compatable with Infotainment center. I do have most current HD software. Do I need Apple's IOS 7 for these devices to be comparable?

Try something other than Apple with it. Apple is extremely proprietary with their products. The very reason I quit them about 20+yrs ago.

If Apple didn't write the program they don't like you using it with Apple.

But that is just my opinion........

Take a look.... this is from the HD site:

BOOM!™ BOX PHONE & MOBILE DEVICE SUPPORT GUIDE
The majority of mobile devices work with your Boom!™ Box Infotainment System.
Check the list below to see if yours is one we have tested for compatibility.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apple iPhone 5 Sprint iOS (6.1.3) 09/2012
Blackberry BlackBerry 9860 AT&T Blackberry (7.1 Bundle 1997) 11/2011
HTC Droid DNA Verizon Android (4.1.1) 11/2012
LG Enlighten VS700 Verizon Android (2.3.4) 11/2011
Samsung Galaxy S III Sprint Android (4.1.2) 06/2012

I have had the same issues on my 2014 TG (I have an iPhone 4 with AT&T). I can only use my iPhone via Bluetooth... it does not do anything when hooked to USB. I can listen to music via USB from my iPod so I know the USB works. Using Bluetooth I can listen to music... listen to Pandora.... Use the phone make and recieve calls (contacts, phonebook, etc.), but I can not see anything from text (bluetooth or USB)

According to harley there are only 5 phones that are compatible with this new radio. Was not told that by salesman! The new system will only pick up 2 radio stations in Oklahoma City!

Not to mention no CB for bike to bike communication.

I use a Galaxy Note II for my real estate business. Need to do more than take pictures and Facebook is why I traded in my iPhone @ $150 a month with AT&T. My Galaxy hooks up fine with my 2009 Chevy Avalanche but can't be found by this 6.5 inch display radio in my dash.

Here are the 5 phones you can use and get this, a blackberry is on the list!!! Not knocking blackberry but in the real estate industry here in Oklahoma City, the blackberry is no longer used and supported by most of the systems. Everyone has shifted to Mac or Android phones.

I haven't seen this here but if it is I apologize for the duplicate. Texting IS an Apple issue. Your contacts will have to send the text as a text and NOT an I message. They can do this by sending the text and then pressing the BLUE message field . Options come up and "send as a text" will appear. As long as a text is in GREEN on the I phone it will go thru. So far no problems getting messages.
