All three drain plugs are 5/8”, you will need short extension for Transmission.
And torque wrenches to torque drain plugs.
You also need T27 for Darby cover.
And a 3/8" hex bit for transmission plug.

Drain plug torque 14 – 21 ft-lbs or 168 –252 in-lbs

Transmission

Drain plug torque 14 – 21 ft-lbs or 168 –252 in-lbs

Wash air filter with mild soap and water and rinse with clear water, do not bang on anything. May use light air or just let dry before reinstalling.

Actually you can check the primary oil level while the derby is still off. You can look in with a flashlight and expect to see it just touching the bottom of the clutch basket.

Harley is using 2 different primary covers .... and the skinny only take 32 ounces. MAKE SURE before you pour!

2014 - I use 3.3 quarts in motor, 38 oz in primary (not the skinny), and 28 oz in tranny (all wet fills).

What is the visual difference between the 2?
I was getting a knocking im the primary at times. Dealer said it was normal due to the new style compensator and clutch. I drained the primary and got 30 oz of fluid. I replaced the fluid with 36 oz. Havent had the knocking since.
