Does anyone know what manufacturer Champion uses for their brake parts? What rotors, pads etc will fit my trike. Champion wants $116 for the pads. That's a rip off! Hate to think what they'd want for rotors.

Champion won't tell you that. They say they are proprietry, Specially designed form them only.

Got the same BS when I purchased a new tail light and got stuck paying $158.00 for a $58.00 Yamaha taillight.

'73 VW Karmen Gia. about $35.00 outa do it. EBC are good. Probably a little more. They are about 3" square with two tabs at the top corners. Take your old ones with you. I've got it written down some place. Ill look for it.

Don't know what the rotors are but a good brake shop can tell you. They are not for Champion only. SA axle is either Nissan or Suzuki.

I'm using the EBC "Yellow Stuff" brake pads on my 2005 Champion solid axle 1800---they are nice and grippy--would imagine it would well on your VTX

I was told by Champion that they use a Suzuki Rear gear for the Honda kits.

Yep, told me it was either or depending on how the drive shaft bolted on to the pig but don't remember. Don't know why they use Suzuki rear ends and put VW Brakes on. I'm guess it must be VW rotors? It would be nice if we knew what we were working on.

They want to sell parts at three times the value. Not at a fair profit. They know nothing about customer relations. If I ever buy a new conversion, it will not be a Champion. If I do buy another Champion, it will be because it was a cheap purchase like what I have now.

Since I built my own I got to see what was in the crate.

There was a note specifing the VW part numbers for the brake pads. it was wired to the rear end. Along with instruction to check the rear end grease.

Kinda looks like this document was removed and is not passed on to the customer (by the installer, not Champion)
