I can lock and unlock my trunk with the key or the remote. All that works well but no matter what I do the bike keeps telling me the trunk is open and I can’t get it to stop.

Is there way to bypass this or how do I fix it? Please, I’m so frustrated.

Give it an extra shove after you close it.Slamming isn't good for the upper trunk if thats the one.Latch mat also be loose or need adjustment.

I have pushed it down, and It’s completely closed but still tells me it’s open. I’ve tried everything and no luck. I’d like to bypass it. It’s a pain.

On our 2018 Goldwing Trike, with the top one, I grab the bottom of the trunk with one hand and the back of the rider's backrest and pull towards me with that hand while pulling up with the hand that is below the trunk. Don't need to slam the cases together.

yes, NEVER, EVER slam it closed it bends the upper U shaped clips. I’ve had trouble convincing my wife not to slam it like she does the car trunk lid.

Anyway I fixed it last night. Couldn’t sleep so I snuck out to the garage and worked on it. All Ok now.

Are your strikers tight ... grab them and see if they have movement. Then verify that all bolts that hold both hinges are tight and not missing.

Glad you got it sorted out. I just cringe every time I see/hear someone slam the lid to the top case. It's just plastic with metal fittings attached. Stuff WILL get loose/bent/broken. The proper and gentlest way is to easy lower to lid, then when it's resting at the bottom but not latched, pull back smartly from the top of the pilon riders backrest. And every so often, check the screws holding the U locking brackets. They do tend to work loose.....
