I just installed the DK comfort lift kit on my 2020 TG. What is the cure for the Z pipe hitting the swing arm? I'm thinking about modifying the hanger bracket for the cross over pipe so that it will hang down lower. I also remember reading somewhere that you can add a spacer between the muffler and the muffler mounting bracket and use a longer bolt which will drop the mufflers down and thus increase the clearance between the Z pipe and the swing arm. If possible I prefer not to use the alternate mounting holes in the lift kit as I want to have as much lift as possible.

With my 2011 Tri i modified the hanger......But be careful of hitting the belt with weight on the trike...

Welcome to the forum from Western Pennsylvania I think somewhere I saw a fix for this I believe Kevin knows what to do tomorrow give DK Custom a call Im sure they will have an answer. Really good people there. :good: ride safe Fred

Does it hit while the trike is at rest on the floor or only when it is jacked up and the suspension at nearly full extension.

The alternate holes is only 1/4" in height, if it will fit in alternate holes go for it, 1/4" isn't much and you will never know the difference in the alternate holes or the full lift holes

As you put weight on the bike the gap between the swingarm and the pipe will increase also when suspension compresses the gap will get even bigger. On my 17 there may be a 1/16 or less of clearance between the weld and the swingarm but i have never heard or felt it make contact with the swingarm. You may try to loosen the clamp where the cross over pipe clamps to the head pipe and see if you can work a little more clearance or try grinding some of the weld down.

I found that I had the pre-load adjustment set too high for my weight. When I set it to the correct amount I looked at the Z pipe and now there is a gap that appears to be between 1/16" to 1/8" which should increase when I sit on the bike.

Glad you got it worked out. When you hit a large bump and your suspension Tops out on the rebound, you may hear a little clank. It will not damage anything...might mar the powder coat, but that is it.

We do recommend that 2017 and up models use the secondary holes. This is because, as Fuzzy mentioned, the weld on the S pipe is obnoxiously large. The only other solution is to grind down the extra welding material at that joint.

Most folks just use the secondary holes on 17+ models.

Enjoy your new ride!

If you had read my post and put in the secondary holes you wouldn't have to worry about it anything, you only lose 1/4 inch, as Kevin below your post he said secondary holes for 2017 and up, he even on his 2019 put in secondary holes, your bike do what you want, you want the full lift, fine but 1/4 inch you would never know it, as Kevin you might here a slight bump and power coating maybe coming off, oh might rust later on, who knows, if happy the way it is, good for you
