Has anyone had any success in removing aftermarket grips when changing out their bars? I have purchased a set of the Khrome Werks 2+2 wide sweepers and have ISO-GRIPS on the stock bars. Should I try to remove them or bite the bullet and buy new ones.

Thanks

On the left side squirt lots of WD40 into the grip and twist the grip a few times. If you can work a thin blade screw driver down the grip that will help also. The throttle by wire grip should slide right off;)

When I switched out my OEM grips they both came right off no glue on left side. Unless you glued the one's you are using on the OEM bars. DSC01024.JPG New Avon grips Love the Memory foam larger size and a modest price. Amazon

P.S. I believe you will love the new bars I would not be without our's. Good luck Fred

I second the Avon recommendation I love mine. I bought the smallest ones and helped with my clutch and brake reach. If the grips were glued it may be worth it just to replace but only way to find out is try. Like was said WD-40 will help just depends on how well they were glued. Btw I never glue mine grip is held on by the switch covers.

Just heat up the grip with your wife's hair blower, get it quite hot and it will just twist off. Be sure you take off the clutch lever assembly first
