Follow along Sidecar project

you keep missing my point... best wishes with your new rig i am sure YOU will be happy with YOUR rig

I have not figure out your point you seems to say it can't be done but it is done. Both my others bikes I have been able to use safely and with no problem with or with out sidecar.

I am sure it can be messed up but that does not mean it can't be done.

700 miles of mixed riding with the front end work done about 110 of that was two up. The bike handles fine without the car on it. The order for the car will be placed in the next couple weeks and setup for first week of October to be delivered.

Here we go. Just placed the order for the Sidecar, first week October delivery. More details to follow when I get the paper work to sign and return. There goes a new bike in August. The cash will go to the sidecar.

Signed the order and emailed it back.

When ordered I set 1st week of October for delivery as the must have time. There is a chance in could arrive toward end of August if so it would get installed early September.

Nice part all of that is done now even the shipping is taken care of.

The Sidecar all that I have added to it crating shipping taxes ect. $10,083.

Classic twin sidecar

Mag Wheel upgrade

ECC

Spoiler / light

Cup Holder Granddaughter made it clear , it must have a good cup holder.

12 V /dual USB ports

Seat belt

Convertible top

Color match paint

Crating

Freight

Tax.

All quick disconnect mounting hardware is included . If all goes well there should be no fabrication need for the install direct bolt on adjust and go. It so the project should come in close to the budget.

Not including a ride down to watch some of the building.

then show me pics of top and bottom mounts

Yesterday I placed the order for the Classic twin sidecar. We had a long conversation about the mounting, because I am having a local dealer install it .

Hannigan assured me it will be a direct bolt on and there will be no issues with the hard lowers and radiator in the lower. I requested delivery no latter than first week in October , however they said it may be ready by August. When it is installed I will provide you with detailed pictures of how they made the Brackets.

The Dealer that will be installing mine has done custom installs on other wet heads. In those cases they were refitting older HD cars to newer wet heads.

I would have just rode down and had Hannigan install it except for a couple things. I like to keep some of my spending Local when possible . Normally I trade Touring bikes every couple years, with the cost of doing this conversion, there will be no trading in 2018.

They let me know today that August 31is their target date to finish it. Little of a month sooner than I set as when I had to have it . That works out even better for me.

ECC (electric camber control). Who has used one ? I have never used one , it seemed like a good idea on the Classic twin.

best thing going for any 3 wheeler. helps compensate for the crown in the road and the load or lack there of in the chair.. just a little tweek keeps you from a constant pressure on the bars..

for me if it has stock trees an no ecc i dont want to ride very far. but thats just me

This new one is a big step. The other one is a basic setup and has worked well for what we use it for and far exceeded what we had wanted. When we decided to do this one from the start we did not want short cuts. The larger car would not be as forgiving.Looking forward to the first ride .

I have seen the ECC on one ,but choose not to ride it at that time , to much going on.

Things are going as planned about a month ahead schedule. looks like about $1,500 over the budget I set . Reasons I added a few things, and need a few more parts to make the RGU faring work right. Once you decide on spending for a project like this may as well get what .

Trike looks interesting, is that all build or a kit? Down the road the Street 750 may get a Frankenstein kit .

no kits here everything is 1 off

2 week delay. CNC machine went down slowed the shop up. They ask if it would put me in a bind . I said it was fine so two extra weeks.

Retro fit

Smitty, I'm very interested in the older retro fit. Do you know if they make their own mounts or if there is a specific kit for older TLE on a '18 or '19 touring bike?

The cost goes up. But Experience teaches us that . The Painter called yesterday, he works for Hannigan. Like many good painter he wants to make it look it's best, with the bike. We went over some options to make the paint even better. The out come is the bottom will be black. Top Black hills gold with Black Quartz panels to match the bike . The chrome seam cover will be removed and filled pin striped to match the bike pin stripes. The extra colors pin stripes filling added 905$ to the cost. So total cost of all paint work will come to $2,000 Wife agreed better to just get it over with now and not have to deal with any other paint latter. 43 years ago when we were married just paying rent was hard to keep up with on Army pay.

Still looks like Sept 15 to finish build and ship.

Made the ride down to Murray Ky Sunday came back Monday. It was a great ride right at 1,200 miles round trip. I could have just mailed the check, but save a 50 cents for the stamp. I just wanted to go for a ride anyway.

It is built, waiting on the Harley Black Hills gold paint. The body is in line for the paint booth.

Here is the brake down on the car it's self. Like everything else it is all the extras you want or need that really add up. $10,487.62

The basic car Twin Classic Mounts made for 2017 RGU. $5295.00

Mag Wheel upgrade 65.00

Disc Brake 695.00

ECC Electric camber control 695.00

Lighted Spoiler 245.00

Cup Holder 35.00

Plug Accessory 12 volt/dual UBS 50.00

Seat belt 55.00

Convertible Top 595.00

Color match, Black hills gold and black Quartz two color pin stripes 1,395.00

Lower seal filled and painted

Color match Spoiler 100.00

Crate for shipping 195.00

Prepaid shipping 392.62

Another 10 day delay. The Black hills Gold paint had to come from HD. It took longer than expected to get it. I had some what expected that and was going to get it myself ahead of time.

Should have stuck with that plan. So now looking at Sept 25 as the build day.

Call came yesterday. it is built and painted being crated to ship 24th or 25th. Now I wonder if the shipping company will delay it.

Patience, Patience, all good things take time with out any reasoning :clapping: I’m sure it will be a thing of beauty.

The older I get the less I get worked up over delays. Payton is the getting excited. Last week she said we should go down and help them finish it.

This journey is almost over. Was in town this morning and saw the tech out riding it. He is either making adjustments or on a joy rider. Either way the end is near.
