when I tried to ride a few days ago front end could not be held straight in yard, So I have installed the new triple tree I ordered when I bought the kit. How tight should I go, I know it has to be tighter than the harley swing method, and I have been told if it doesn't move its to tight loosen it up a little, so I am wondering if that " if it dont move" is that it dont swing at all or that it is lock in one position and cant be moved, new triple tree is installed and tightened up, I would like to make tighter, nachelle is not installed yet, that and key for lock, so I will go ahead and tighten it up some more and then see what replies I get before i install the nachelle and fog lights

I suggest tighten til it just swings down to near center from a full lock position. Should not swing through center or maybe just a little.

I'm wrestling with the same issue on my 2008 FXD and a 5 degree triple tree. It seems "heavy" and hard to turn. Not sure how to find the correct adjustment. any advise is appreciated.

Torque it to 30 ft lbs.

how do you use a torque wrench on the jam nut, this is the nut that is star shaped and actually tightens the front bearing, it is located under top plate on triple tree, to be of my knowledge there is no wrench that fits it,

the large nut that is located on top triple tree top plate, in my manual says 70-80 ft lbs. that nut does not tighten action in fork and I think it is 1-1/2 inch but I will have to check to refresh memory . for now I headed to H-D shop for fork oil, jst as well change it out since I have nachelle off,

I recheck my manual and top triple tree nut torque is listed 70-80ft lbs on 03 road king. per harley manual
