What did you do to your Trike this week?

Milling your rims will not effect the strength on your trike its not going to see nearly the force's a v8 would give it. I would be darn sure to pick out rims I would love if they are footing the bill. They are being stand up on the problem, lots of places do not on " custom rims" enjoy your new rims.

This is the Pacer wheel, which are not made any more!
American wheel they machined. They almost look the same. Happy with the new wheels.
You are correct, some shops would say, Bug off, that's the chance you take.
I wish I had the equipment lots of you guys have to do my own work, but it is not the case, so, you depend on "local hear say", as to who to see. I have been very fortunate while in Florida. Last year, was the brake problem on my trailer. Ask the locals who haul equipment around, like lawn service people, they suggested a trailer sales/repair, they were excellent.
I bought new rear tires while here in Florida for the trike, locals suggested this place, I compared prices, they were the best, and the stood by their work.
One other point I make to people who are "strangers" in an area, ask the locals and see where the senior citizens go to eat, 95% of the time it is good, cheap food, not the tourist traps! LOL

Those are good wheels I have American Racing on my trike.. very well made mine are 9 years old and still look new. :clapping:
Did a couple of things to the trike.. added lever covers from Fox Creek black with red laces. Installed a 14.8 inch 48 LED brake light under the tour pack with a flash controller. Gives off 3 fast 3 slow then solid, liked it so much I rewired all the brake lights thru it. I used 3M auto trim tape to hold it on very secure and easy to wire. Bought some Plasti Dip to protect the front of the fenders going to see how that works out tomorrow.

Trike Salvage Yard
Great job, been thinking of doing the LEDs under my trunk on my Hannigan GL 1800 also.
Also, thinking of taking my Aqua shield(running boards) off this fall and have my body shop re painting them, they are getting a little beat up!
Here is a question to our members:
Does anyone know of a trike salvage yard were we can purchase used parts from trikes that have been in accidents and totaled?
I know I went to a salvage yard years ago in MA, but at that time they only had bike parts, not trike parts.
If you know of a place, please shine in and let us know.

I adjusted the clutch last night, Now i have to get use to the new contact point..

I remember doing that to my cars and then getting use to the clutch all over again. "Feather" the clutch so you wouldn't stall the engine!
Yes, adjust and get ready to retrain your brain as to how much you can let it out, so it will engage!
But, You can train old dogs! Correct! Speed shift is in the past, now days, just shift so you don't jerk your passenger! LOL

Spent this evening after work installing an F4 windshield. So far, so good!

Are you tall or short? I am short and I look through my windshield, which I have always done. I love the way it cuts the wind/rain for me and Janice. As long as we are moving at a good clip, we do not get wet when it rains, water goes right over both of us.
Story: Took a lady for a ride on my trike. She rode on another trike with a shorter windshield. As we got started she tap me on the shoulder and told me we had to go back to the house because she forgot her sunglasses to cut the wind. I told her she would not need them, she didn't believe me, so I said OK, as I was looking for a place to turn around, she said, WOW, I don't need them. She was amazed.

Put Plasti Dip on the front of my fenders for protection I could see they were getting some nicks. Sprayed 3 coats of the rubber and 2 coats of gloss UV spray. Came out pretty clean looking, bugs and such wash right off. Will see how they hold up over time. Nice thing was did not take much time to do and have plenty of supplies left for a redo. Also moved the Tour Pack back 1 1/2 inch to give the wife a little more room since I always use a backrest. Dis not thing it would cause a problem with the seat but it did. To sit straight the seat ends up to far forward now..lol soooo after a little research found Kuryakyn sells a Pad & Filler Panel for the relocation kit they sell. Should fit fine went ahead and ordered one be here this week. That's about it I seem to be running out of things to do to the trike before I run out of money.

I have had a similar issue in the past. If the bulb is not securely locked in place with the base pivot clamp, then the bulb will vibrate more and the life of the bulb filament is greatly shortened. I found this out after replacing a couple of short lived bulbs.
If you are talking about the head light going on and off or flickering and the bulb filament is OK, then I have no information to offer.

Last week installed new clutch pressure plate with multiple springs, 40K on clutch. Trike now beefy in all gears! Today, received LED headlight that I will install when weather warms again.
Good wipe down, and cover to keep the dust off. It sure is windy here and the dust is in the air. Jim

Soo far holding up nice..going to winery with G.W.Viper Sunday that's "Bug Country" will see how it holds up.

Removed the Garmin 2720 mount/power cable and installed a Garmin 590LM cable/mount back.
It’s been a while since I’d had the tupperware off the bike, but it went good.
I can now use the 590 on either bike! :clapping:

My GL is an 02, so no GPS. I have a couple of questions about the GPS on new bikes:
Does the GPS voice play through the headset?
Are the streets easily seen while you are riding on the display?
Are the updates to the GPS included in a one time payment, or do you have to pay every time you update the unit? My Ford truck is $170+ every year, no one time payment, which you should update your GPS every year if you travel a lot.
On my handheld GPS unit, we paid a one time fee for updates which is great, and we use it on the trike as we travel, as my wife being the co-pilot. This works well, as the screen is hard to see if mounted on the trike because to the glare of the sun on it.

I put on a new set of BF Goodrich 225/60R-18 rear tires to my Stallion. In addition, I added a Sirius-XM antenna to my Garmin 2820 gps. I hope that the Bluetooth LG headsets work as well with this arrangement as they do with other audio applications I have.

I washed it and finally rode it for the first time in a month. I got hit with Bell's Palsy four weeks ago, and couldn't blink my right eye until this week, so it would blurr out on me making seeing the road kind of difficult.
It was nice to finally get back out in the wind!

Please let us know how your new tires ride? Did you replace your BF Goodrich tires with New of the same series, or did you update? Mine rears, they stop making the same tire so had to get tire information on a new series and have them put on.
Also, keep us posted on you new antenna and how it works.

Glad to hear you are doing much better and able to ride. There is nothing worse than looking at your ride and not being able to take her out, just like winter storage!
Bell's Palsy, is it something you can catch or a hereditary thing? It must be rare, you really don't hear many people getting it.

I installed my handlebars & highway pegs on mine
I finally installed my new handlebars and cobbled some pegs together from Kuryakyn to fit my 1 3/8 diameter down tubes. Have a look.
