Best clutch with AIM VP plate + TTS100 cams, plus SE vs Baker comp sprocket opinions?

At 55K it's time to replace the stock "grabby" clutch (at take-off) as well as the "clunking" SE comp sprocket. I run the AIM variable pressure plate + Hayden chain tensioner and have the TTS100 cams on my 2010 Street Glide Trike. I'll be getting it Dyno tuned during Biketoberfest so I want to install it all beforehand.

Also, the SE comp sprocket that was replaced at 29K clunks at startup, as well as at idle below 1,000 RPM, so it's time to replace or upgrade. Any recommendations about SE vs Baker on the comp?

Also, while I'm into the primary, anything else to check?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

No responses I see but I'll update anyways. I decided to go with the Baker comp. Ordered it yesterday and it's been shipped today so should have it by Tuesday at the latest. Great service from the Baker folks! Just couldn't see spending $300 replacing a part that has already failed after just 25K. My last Harley, a 1985 FLHTC, still had the original comp sprocket in it when I sold it with about 115K on it so I'm looking for Baker to live up to that kind of performance.

As far as the clutch goes, I did a little research on grabby clutch causes and the opinions ranged from too much oil, wrong kind of oil, out of adjustment, worn friction discs, warped steel plates, etc. Checked the steel plates and they all look good and the friction plates all measured around .145-.147 so they, aren't worn out.

But I think I'll upgrade to a Barnett clutch pack just because I'm in the upgrading mood and I've had good luck with them on prior Harleys.

My Hayden chain tensioner looks pretty good. Some grooves showing on the lead (front) side so I'll just spin it around for extra life.

Have had good luck with Hayden also, not only with the trike but with two other Harleys.

And the AIM variable pressure plate is proving to be some of the best money I've spent.

It does everything they claim.

The TTS100 cams are proving to be a real pleasure. I've been running it for the last 5K with the 255 map and it performs very well. I love that it keep pulling right up to the rev limiter! And riding in the mountains requires a lot less downshifting, although I like to ride close to the 3K mark anyways.

That way I'm always ready to make a quick move... either around someone, out of someone's way, or just for the fun of making a quick move.

But I can tell there is more performance to be had so instead of getting it Dyno tuned I've decided to purchase the Auto Tuner for my PCV. That way I don't have to redo the tune if (when?) I decide to make more changes.

I'll be roaming around the Daytona area all during Biketoberfest (as well as the rest of the winter) so maybe I'll see a few of you there.

Glad you went with the Baker Comp. Unless Harley done a recent update on there comps.
even after replacing the Harley Comp with the new version comp at the time it still got no oil in the critical areas of the comp and were fretting from day one.

Sounds like the baker comp is the way to go.

I was also looking at the baker tensioner. But got rid of the tri before that happened. I wasn't happy with the hayden tensioner for adjustment reasons.

Regarding the Hayden, not sure what you meant by not liking it for "adjustment reasons." I don't ever remember having to adjust any one I've installed. After all it's just a couple of stiff springs keeping tension on the chain.

Don't you have to set for proper gap with the shims that comes with the kit?

Yes... 3/8 of an inch. But once it's done it's pretty much done unless your primary chain gets too stretched. I never found it to be much of a hassle to take it in and out to adjust shims... but that's just me. Everyone has a different experience when it comes to working on their own bikes. Plus, nowadays there are other people making basically the same setup. Baker now has one and I've seen a few others as well. I stuck with Hayden because I'm familiar with them as I've been running that setup since the 80's.

At the time when I did mine I found it was too tight and the tensioner I felt it wasn't working the way it should..JMO
