New Members Flooding In...Please Help

I ocassionally send an email out to the newer members who have joined but never posted and ask them to make a post so we know they are not a bot or spammer. After getting mass spammed with PMs from new member "Ryder" today, I sent the "please make your first post" email and you may have noticed the board is blowing up with new member intros which is a good thing. I would ask that you please help in greeting the new members, a few here religiously do so every day but they could use some help.

Be kind of cool if we had a simple official (as in blessed by our founder) business card with the forum logo and web address to hand out. I'll bet I gave the website name to at least 20 or more trikers that I've encountered this summer on my two trips to the left coast.

I was referred to this site by two different trike owners.
I still only have two wheels but I love checking out the various trikes when I come across them.
No plans to buy, but I do like to keep up to date on the different rides out there

When I was Admin of the V8Bikeriders site a few years ago,I had some business cards printed up to carry with me. Still carry them but now have TrikeTalk.com printed on the back. Every time I run into another trike owner, I give them one of my cards.

I'm also a member of two TriGlide forums and one Freewheeler forum on Facebook and frequently post something about our site on them,trying to help recruit new owners to our ranks.

Strength in numbers,folks.

I've come to understand that most come to TrikeTalk.com to gather information rather than socialize, especially considering the age of most trike riders. Most folks our age just don't engage in social media to the extent the younger folks do as far as posting on forums, just look at the number of members and non members signed on at any given time, our traffic is phenomenal and spans the globe. Its a great site to gather information, but its also a great site to make new friends and share information too. I hope to see more participating once they've broken the ice with that first post.

I'm the resident PITA and unknowledgable person when it comes to technical crap that gets the most attention....you know the stuff, how many miles per gallon do you get? what kind of oil should I use? what's the best stage ? to get to up my performance and speed? that kind of crap that just keeps me coming back for more useless information (well, not all the time)....love to read the trip reports and hi-jack a photo or two for my desktop (thanks DK and Mary). But, other than that, great bunch of folks here and have a wealth of information that my pea-brain just can't comprehend sometimes.

Another Newbie

Hey Boss, I'm not a spammer or a bot. Got 2 PM's from Ryder though! Thanks for the warning!! I use Lucas Synthetic in my 08 Wing Trike. This is only my 2nd oil change so far. 1st time I used Honda oil. Thought I'd try some synthetic to see if it would help out any. This is the 3rd oil change since the break in oil change. I was told by the salesman at O'Reily's that I should be able to run it 5,000 miles. Anyone that can give me some advise on wheather that is too many miles please let me know! It seems to run a little cooler on synthetic. I run synthetic in all my vehicles.
I also have some questions if some of y'all will give me some input:
1) I am having a bottoming out problem with or without a passenger. Is there anyway to get more ground clearance than bigger wheels and tires?
2) I have an 08 Goldwing with a 10 Hannigan Gen II Trike kit. Should the rear suspension controls work? I get an error message when I try to + or - the air pressure or the memory settings.
3) I bought the Pilot Activ rear tire to put on the front but my local Honda shop won't put it on for me. I saw a comment on here, don't remember who it was, that said you didn't need to balance a front tire. Is this true?
Thanks for any input y'all can give me with these questions!!!!

I kind of need more information on what you are having a problem with to give you help or refer you to the Owner. Can you please post a narrower question.

I'm one of those guys who like to say hello and help with questions when I can. I also have friends who like reading the post and seeing what other triker's are up to but they are not posters. I don't have a problem with that and hope they stay around and keep checking out what the members are doing. I have the Trike Talk.com sticker on the windshield and every time someone looks at the trike I tell them about TT. Hope some of them are members now.
