Late nighters---unite!!!

Several Things

Our Grandson graduated High School tonight (Friday). 3.5 GPA

Gonna ride the trike to a uke jam Saturday morning.

Sunday is the first anniversary of my friend Jim's passing. We are going to ride to Quantico National Cemetery to visit his burial site. For those not aware, he was the previous owner of my trike. I bought it from his family after he died.

Congrats to the Grandson!!

Quite an accomplishment having that high of a GPA. I have a niece that is very likely to graduate valedictorian of her class next year. She is over 4.0 GPA, because of some AP classes she takes. Very proud of her.

Be very careful on your ride this weekend. It's gonna be a scorcher. Use plenty of sunscreen.

If I might be so nosy, how did your friend Jim pass? I've been meaning to ask that but always forget. If you don't want to say anything on the open forum, I understand.

I don't know the reason behind it, but on his way home in his Jeep, he ran off the road and hit a parked tractor trailer. His death was instantaneous.

I'll bet either he fell asleep or had a heart attack. I've seen it happen both ways around here too many times. Before I was in this line of work, I was a street cop for quite awhile. Saw my share of accidents. Enough to last me a lifetime.

Forgot to mention---

Got home this morning, put the trike in reverse to back in my driveway....NOTHING. Not a sound or a movement. Great, I thought. Only a year out of my reverse. Not boding well for the future.

Woke up about 4pm, texted the service writer to set an appt. He texted back and asked I had tried the fuse trip yet? Went out, tried it, and yep I've got reverse again!

Felt just a little stupid.

Another slow night around here. You would figure on a Saturday night everybody would want to stay home and play around on the forum.

Last year, we had an above ground pool put in. We knew nothing about pools, so we paid a guy to close it for us. That cost us $150. Another guy opened it up for us...$145.

Then we had a pool sun blanket with a reel that we hadn't installed, because somehow the directions were lost since last year. The same guy that opened the pool said he would do the installation for $125. That was over a week ago. So instead of chasing him down, my wife decided I was going to install it. I'm handy with nothing. Period.

But she found the directions somehow or another online. Meanwhile, I was looking at everything, and pretty much figured most of it out.

Of course it involved getting wet in the pool to do the job both right and much easier. It took me about an hour and some change, and saved us $125.

We may just save $150 and close the pool on our own this year as well. Youtube is our friend.

Did the pool matinence thing yesterday. H2O temp is 75* . Tried to cover with bubble wrap solar cover and ti just ripped apart due to age and probably chlorine. They do work, but don't last more than 4 yrs. Another $200 to dish out.

I'm wiped out by about 10:30 unless I'm on the trike traveling, last week being the classic example.
You on central or mountain time? Depending on which, you may still be awake when I come in at 11:30 edt.

I can already tell this pool is gonna be a money pit. Chemicals alone will eat you alive!

Be different if you had been running it hard but just sitting there?????

Made it to werk on the TG. Reverse has tripped the fuse again. Anybody care to guess why it's doing this all of the sudden?

Yup, I agree with this assessment. Will be asking questions real soon. If I ever have money again, I may just put in a mechanical reverse...of course I'll wait quite some time. No $$$ right now...or for a couple of years.

Sitting on the front porch with the fam. Ceiling fan is going, wife lit some mini tiki torches to keep the bugs away. The only thing missing is a cold beer. Can't. Gotta go to work later.

Doin the same, only difference is I took the cut up watermelon and put it in the blender with some spiced rum. Keep these non muggy 73* nights a commin. :pepper:

It's a little muggy here and 81*. Still nice to be out. The fan makes a huge difference. Wish I could join you with the watermelon concoction. Bet it's good.

Not much happening here on the forum tonight. Looks like all the carpets have been rolled up, and everybody's turned in.

We were beat after 8 hours on the ride to Quantico. Son and Daughter-in-law came over for a Father's day cookout when we got home. He gave me a 400 round box of .22 LR for Father's day.

Did you play your uke?

Sounds like you had a good time for Father's day. I did too. I was treated to dinner at O'Charley's. A box of ammo is always a good gift

And no, I didn't even think about playing the uke. I'm going to have to do that more often. It might've actually done the Sceptre some good bringing it outside where it was a little muggy. Might've helped wood movement a little and filled in that crack some.

Caged it to werk tonight.

Supposed to start raining anytime now, and continue through mid day. Watch it not rain at all, and have made me drive the truck for nothing.
