Caged it into werk tonight. Weather showed chance of over 50% rain after 5am. Decided not to chance it. Put the cover on it, and it got caught on everything it could possibly get caught on to include mirror, handlebar, turn signal, etc, etc. Took me over 5 minutes just to put the damn thing on!! If the house next door wasn't abandoned and had neighbors, they would have probably called the police because of all the foul language that was coming out of me. :p

Been there myself, but the more you do the better you get at it discovering the most efficient method. It is a pain in the ass for awhile.

BUT, I do vote responsibly...

Democrats (nationally) now are much different than the democrats of my mom's and dad's party.
I have no doubt that all democrats believe they vote responsibly. It is all subjective and highly environmentally influenced. That's life, eh?

No. I'm saying I have never just voted straight ticket. Remember, if it weren't for democrats, there would have never been a republican voted into office. ThumbUp

Yeah, I know what you mean, if it weren't for republicans there never would have been a democrat in office. :D

Lets just say we the people are a natural progression with a national schizophrenic disorder. You gotta do destiny. The country has naturally been motivated on a liberal course since its founding. I'm more like the break slowing the process. Can't stop it, but I can help to delay the inevitable. I size up people by their character, not by politics, religion, or race. I'm just having some fun with philosophy.

I'm the same way. I hope you don't take it that I'm trying to bust your balls.

No, I don't think you are trying to bust my balls, nor am I you. We have slight deviations in philosophy, which isn't an unnatural process. ;)

I've got to hit the sack. The wife and I have a couple of grandchildren in the morning and then she and I are going to take a 6 to 8 hr ride on the trike. Good Night Scott.

I really don't think we are that far apart philosophy wise. I'm a local democrat, not national. Around my county and city, being a dem is a totally different thing. Here, we are actually the conservatives. I haven't voted democrat nationally since Willie Clinton in '96. I voted Bush in '92. While Clinton wasn't the most honest guy on the planet, the country got along fairly well under his rule. I got raises every year he was in office. That's what counted for me.

Definitely can't say that now.

I don't like to talk politics so will just say this to get it off my mind and then I'm finished...

The choices for we have had for a quality POTUS has gone down with each elections. This year is the worst of the worst. It's a lose/lose for the country.
Lord help us all come 2017 and beyond.

The will of the people is no concern to these people. they are driven by poll stats and big business. We the people mean nothing to them.

OK, off my soap box...the end!!

Yup, I agree. Either way it goes, our future POTUS is gonna be a real POS. :D

How's work going tonight?

Unfortunately true. I'm actually a little worried this time though. The militias here have all gone silent. Silence before the storm worries me.

Yeah Scott, that is why I said slight deviations.

This election is the difference between a known and unknown course the US will take after the election. I'm not even sure if the people actually have choice anymore. It is impossible to elevate people by tearing them down financially and that is petty much what is happening. The slothful and the power greedy controllers already have us near ruins. I'm extremely concerned for the future of our children and grandchildren and it doesn't feel like an old age phenomenon. What was meant to be will be no matter what I suppose. Division that has been purposely perpetrated in our world is destroying it and never has it been more obvious. I don't view my post as a needless alarm and I'm certainly not an alarmist. The internet is the most effective place for me to scream. :Trike1:

Triked it to werk tonight.

Hot and sticky out there. I'm betting there will be a heavy coating of dew on the TG cometh the morn.

It was 94 here today so the wife and I took off for Mark Twain's home place, Hannibal, Mo. and there Mo 79 south to Louisiana Mo. One of the better cycle routes in the area for winding road and thick vegetation. Took about 5 hours round trip. On the way home we stopped at a quaint biker bar in the middle of no where for a single cold one. It really hit the spot. Here are a few snapshots from our day. Pictures just don't do the territory justice. Running it in the fall ride is extra spectacular and without the heat.

The mailbox is a jewel.

We did have a great day. Getting her conditioned for a long adventure. Guest I need to invest in a go-pro or other. Something I've avoided so far, but it's about time. This is the biker bar we guzzled a cold one.

About 20 in the bar when we stopped. I took the picture right in front of the door. Nothing around for miles and it was four in the afternoon. It's much larger than it appears in the picture and it gets a lot busier later in the evening. Really packed on bike nights.

We traveled south yesterday. Today we are going north along the Mississippi and into Iowa. Have a good shift. :vxtyaq:

Thanks. Enjoy your trip and be safe.

Man, I'd love to have that old truck.

I bought a gopro and have only used it once. trying to find a spot on my trike that I can mount it. Not many placed available. I have the trike in my basement now so I can put on my new horns and some more LED lights. I also want to install my MicMute.

I bought a fuse block to mount under the seat so that I can take the 7 or 8 accessories that are connected directly to the battery off the battery and into the new fuse block. Will be a much cleaner install plus I can clearly mark each circuit.

If you trust the suction cup, put it on the windshield. That little thing will fit on a corner and won't block your view. Me, I'm pretty sure I've got enough handlebar room for mine.

And, yeah, that old truck looks really nice. Seeing stuff like that makes me wish I was a wrencher.

I used it with the suction cup mounted on the front fairing. I had it tethered to the vent in the windshield.. I got a lot of movement in the video which I think was caused by the wind, road and the arm on the suction cup being too long.

I'm going to test a couple more locations as well as mounting it to my helmet since I must wear it once I exit NH on the way to Ontario Canada. I'm sure I will find a place that works. If not, I'll sell it and stick with taking pictures with my phone.

Maybe try it behind the windshield? Wouldn't have to worry about wind moving it. Don't know if there would be enough room. IIRC, there's quite a bit more room behind the windshield of a Venture than there is a TG.

A helmet mount would definitely work. Of course I saw where people were saying that you would be seeing what you are turning to look at...well, DUH...what I'm looking at is what I would want to see on video. :D

ZERO room behind the windshield unless I could use suction cup on gas tank and run a long extension up to the windshield like they use on the ram mounts.

I'm going to mess around with it this week and figure out a couple places to try it.

I'm not leaving for my trip until the 20th so I've got time to figure it out.

I was thinking of sticking the suction cup on inside of the windshield itself...any possibility that could work?

I have a ram mount for my phone. That would be workable. You could use the brake or clutch side reservoir mount, then build it up as high as you need it to 'see'.

One good thing about your RSV vs a TG is no vibration when idling. If you did use any type of handlebar mount if it were a TG, the vid would vibrate like crazy while at idle.
