Late nighters---unite!!!

Forum has been fairly active tonight for once. DblTrbl has been out and about showing off his new stuff. And Butch from Alaska has been talking on another thread with a guy that's having a lot of shoulder pain.

But I reckon you all can read all that if you want....:D

Another night in the books.

This is my Friday. Signed up for OT. They are doing a new thing here called 'augmentation', meaning they are going to assign other staff officers' duties if they are on vacation or call off sick. They will be moving the officers that would usually fill those positions to evenings and midnights to reduce OT there.

We'll see if I get called.

Sure you will. No one wants to work anymore!

I'm hitting the pool. Days and days and days of working fenceline and I'm just shot. Hitting the sack after the pool and there's still daylight but I'm shot!

You were right!

The guy from the unit I worked last night called in for his Monday. It was an extra long weekend for him considering he called in sick for his Friday also. Doesn't bother me, I'm reaping the benefit. Don't want to jinx myself, but this is an easy unit to work.

Triked in for the OT shift. No rain in the forecast between now and tomorrow afternoon. Of course, last night it was supposed to rain all night long, and we didn't get a drop until this afternoon.

Go figure. The skies will probably open up here in a few.

I have unlimited OT. We have 3 people to keep our department open 24/7/365. Most months I take 2 nights off. I just took two weekend in a row off and now I'm lost..LOL
Last year my 1st day off was June 23rd. Yes, 6 months without a day (or night) off.

I think they are closing the shop for the 4th so should have a long weekend.

End of July, I'm taking a trike trip up to Ontario Canada for a Venture gathering. Should be fun and 9 days off!!!!

In other words, you can make as much money as you want to make. That's gotta be wearing on your body and mind though. I know it would be mine.

It really doesn't pay to work so much since they tax the hell out of me. Yes, my Gross income is a healthy amount but they take just over 1/3 of my pay.

This year I have already taken more time off then I did all of 2015 and still have two, one week vacations planned for this year.

For me, it's easier to work every night then to take a night or two off....that just messes up my routine.

If I were single, I would work overtime on all shifts if I could. As it is, I only work on one of my nights off. And I try to pick and choose that if I can. Like tonight for example...I'm working in a unit I'm familiar with, and on a midnight. That way it doesn't eat into necessary family time. Both my daughters are special needs, and my wife works during the day, so I have to supervise them. Unfortunately, no one else either can or will.

My wife has found the recipe for something called a strawberry trifle. It's about the best dessert I've ever put in my mouth!! She fixed one tonight at supper, and I forgot to get some to take with me.
:gah::mad::(

I reckon people might be thinking I was trying to stir up trouble on the Harley Tri Glide vs Everyone Else thread, but honest to God, I wasn't. I was trying to join in what looked like good fun.

I think he was talking about a seat cover, which I have. I also have a Harley Trike cover. It was muy expensive.

I was thinking full cover, but if you stick with brand specific, they can get expensive. You can get them for 15 to 20 bucks on sale and I don't care about broadcasting what is under its protection, but I suppose most do for whatever reason. I just never let mine set out without as much weather protection as possible, sun or otherwise, when not moving. It is just the way I roll with the investment. :D

Well, there's no fog tonight (yet). By this time last night, it was murky. Couldn't see more than 50 yards in front of me.

Fog isn't a good thing at a prison.

I don't much like fog period. Dislike driving in it. Otoh, from what I've read, fog is what gave 'ol Andy Jackson the upper hand against the British. Their regulars were simply no match for our home grown swamp rats :D
