wind buffeting

I just ordered a 2 inch tank lift from D&K for my 2009 streetglide. I am wondering if it will help with wind buffeting? I know, I no longer have a trike but any comments would be appreciated.

Inch and a half plus deluxe option on mine. I'm not gonna tell you it eliminates it, but there is a difference (to the lesser).

The 2" on mine helped some, actually when I raised the back some of the buffeting came back but not as bad as before. The downside is the fuel gauge is off a bit!

Two inch on mine also, helped some on wind more so on engine temps. Dropped a good 10 or more degrees.

when I installed the tank lift and deluxe option, I slid the tank as far to the rear as possible, didn't want to get anything hitting. This caused the front of the seat to be a little cramped in the crotch. I reset the road pegs, which helped but still I did not like the feel. Well I was willing to take the deluxe out and get the seat back to normal. I got the front tire off the ground and loosened the lift brackets. I kept moving the tank forward and rotating the bars from side to side and checking for clearance. I was able to move the tank all the way forward and had enough clearance that nothing would hit. This took care of the cramped crotch and as a side benefit lowered the amount of air coming over the tank. Jim

Luckily, I had enough clearance with the deluxe option slid all the way forward.

Because of the bars I have, all the stuff hanging off of them, and that I have them pulled back toward me...I barely have enough clearance, and that is with the tank slid all the way back!

The main purpose we came up with the tank lift for the Twin Cams is to get more air over the engine to help cool it down. Added benefits are more chrome showing, easier to clean, and for some (not everyone) varying degrees of reduced buffeting.

On pre-14's it will change the fuel gauge reading, but 95% of them are not that accurate to begin with, so it is just a different level of inaccuracy.

On 14-Up, we were surprised to see that HD had finally figured out how to make an accurate fuel gauge, and, even with the tank lift the gauge is still accurate.

Our Cooling Deflector Wings are at Powder Coat now. We should have them on the website within the next 10 days. These were specifically designed to:

Reduce buffeting
Increase the amount of air across the engine for better cooling

I still get wind in my eyes. I'm hoping this product will make a difference in that.
