Lehman Trike Parts & Info Thread

Although it is a lot of trouble, that is the preferred method.ThumbUp

Just got confermation from a trike wrench in Jasper Il. It is a 6206 made in china. When i try to buy that its inner race is not raised.

I did get a reply from Champion. Just blows my mind. *Is this what you need for a GL1800 with a Suzuki differential? *

Did I mention I ride a VTX 1300??

BE-E00-030 BEARING $20.43 $40.86
BE-E00-031 BEARING RETAINER $12.02 $24.04
BE-E00-032 AXLE SPACER $5.15 $10.30
BE-E00-014 WASHER WAVE SPRING $1.90 $3.80
SE-E00-006 CAGE SEAL $9.07 $18.14
SE-E00-008 AXLE SEAL $9.82 $19.64

$58.39 $116.78

How in the hell do I know what I need without pictures?????????

Don't know what the axle spacer is. Don't know what a washer wave spring is. Don't know know a cage seal is. It doesn't mention the seal protector like other kits list.

Mine has Bearing, Bearing retainer, seal and seal protector. I have a new seal.

I'm thinking the axle spacer may take the place of the raised inner race but need pics to be sure.

Did you check the bearings I found for Ford ???

I have someone checking these numbers for a cross. They are exclusive to Champion. In other words... CODE

Bit the bullet and ordered the kit from Champion less the axle seal which I already have a new one.

Will reinstall. $20.00 for a $6.00 Chinese bearing is a hard pill to swallow!

Here is another and I think this might be it.

W206FF 30x62x23.8

Got the Champion stuff installed. 62 x 30 x 15 6206 RS. You are correct. The inner race is not raised. That is a spacer. You need the cage seal, spacer and bearing retainer from Champion. Axel seal is locally available. I recommend buying the kit from Champion less the Chinees bearing and buying a National American made bearing locally. If I have to do the right side at any time, all I will need to buy is the cage seal from Champion.

My machanic was able to save the bearing retainer and spacer

30X62X15 ???

Are you sure of the width of the bearing, 15mm ?
Can you provide me a picture of that cage seal ? Does the cage seal act as a spacer also ? I am assuming that the bearing is only sealed from one side and the cage seal makes the seal to the second side. Why not just get a bearing that has 2 seals ?

30x62x16 is a 6206RS in http://www.vxb.com/6206RS-Bearing-30...p/kit817_1.htm

Yes, 16 is correct. I have a cheap plastic gauge. The cage seal attached goes in the housing first dome in. Axel seal next. The round spring goes in the Caliper mount not shown. This part you don't need as the old one is just fine. Don't know what the cage seal does. The auto world calls it a seal protector. The axle seal rides on the bearing spacer next to the bearing not on the axle. The Caliper mount is the only real Champion Proprietary part I can see. Flat part about 1/2" thick that fits between the hub and the bearing and holds the axle into the housing. Custom made for Champion.

Bottom line is: if you have a leaky seal the only parts you really need is the Cage seal if damaged (mine was), axle seal and bearing as the oil will have washed out the grease in the sealed bearing.

Az Lehman Dealer

Does anyone know of a Good Lehman dealer in AZ. I am in the Phoenix area. I am wondering if there are replacement brake calipers for the Lehman. My Gl1800 is a 2007 with the Lehman kit installed the same year. I have seen new Goldwings with the Lehman kit and different brake calipers. I hate the dragging I have with the installed ones.

If this post is in the wrong area please move or delete.

Thanks for any help.

1st, Have you had the HONDA recall done ???
2nd, What issues are you having with your rear brakes and what do you want to accomplish.

This dealer has been a Lehman Dealer Installer for a long time.

Lehman MonarchII rotors and brake pads

Lee H. Mann, I'm new to the site and missed your message. I bought my trike 2nd hand and within a month the bike shop went out of business and the Honda folks will not work on the trike part. The pads and rotors wore in less than 6000 miles. My shad tree idea did not work and I need advise. Can I put a thicker rotor and better pad that Lehman offers at a very high price or do I bite the bullet and pay the high priced Lehman price?

My trike is a 2008 gl1800 converted 2010 Lehman Monarch II.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks

99 Suzuki Intruder Lehman Vagabond

I'm not sure if that is the correct name of my kit. I bought it used last year and I'm wanting info for the kit.

99 Suzuki Intruder Lehman Vagabond

There is no service manual for that kit. It was discontinued 13 years ago. What particular information do you need ?

I just would like to have a service manual, but any mechanical info would suffice. Like what type of rear end is it built on, what kind of brakes does it use, etc.

I have numerous posts on TT about the rear axles used by Lehman with shaft drive, as do others. Just look, the information is here.

As far as a service manual or parts manual, there is not much available.

Grease the u-joint every oil change and check the swingarm bearings often for wear. They are a real culprit on the VS1400's.

Help with parts for 2006 Lehman Tramp

I have decided to chime in with an announcement. Many Lehman owners are having difficulty contacting the factory to get parts and or part numbers, answer to maintenance questions and general information on their Lehman Trike. Since the company is now under new ownership and many of the old employees have left, there is a lot of information that left as well. Many of the models prior to 2002 are unknown to the existing Lehman company representatives and therefor the understanding of particular parts for these models is also missing.

I have been a Lehman Dealer since 1998 and have serviced and re-built models that date back to the mid-1980's. I also have a number of wear related new parts for these older dis-continued models as well as part numbers for the ones I don't stock.

Post a question or comment and I will do my best to solve your issues.

Thanks

Trailer Hitch Kit for 2008 or 2009 Monarch II

Hi Lee - I'm new to this forum. I've actually been able to get email traffic from Champion today. Unfortunately, the only help they could give me is that the trailer hitch for my trike "has been discontinued and is obsolete." Hope you can help me. I have a 2008 Honda 1800GL with a Monarch II kit that was built in either 2008 or 2009. I bought it in 2010 from a Honda dealer while I was on vacation in Las Vegas and had it shipped to me in Alaska. FYI - the Honda dealer in Anchorage will work on the Honda part of the trike, but doesn't work on the conversion end. I'm getting ready to do a little traveling and would like to tow a small trailer with me. Where can I get the trailer hitch and wiring harness to update my trike? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks - MBF

I make up my own hitches. Ball and tongue ($70.00), and wiring harness (below) is also available through other sources.
