Wits end

I thought this was posted yesterday. New on the site. Here is my tale of woe. I have a 2005 HD Ultra with a Champion rear end. After 50,000 plus miles. Over the last 4 years I have replaced 3 pivot shafts, 2 upper and lower motor mounts, 1 set of shocks and right now in the midst of replacing my second set of transmission cases. I have a true love/hate relation with my trike. I spend my time in both Az and NJ so I ride all the time. Champion has given me no help or insight to my issues. After the first set of cases they stopped all communication with me (possibly because my mechanic found that several parts were upgraded right after my purchase.). My question is do I have an inferior product or just by bad luck a lemon in this one unit.

As I have no experience with either company, I can't be much help. It seems though, as an outside observer, it might be time to get an attorney involved. Hopefully with the help of your mechanic your problem can be moved through the legal process. It certainly seems you should be entitled to some type of compensation.
Wish I could be more help, myself. Good Luck!

Yikes! That does sound like a frustrating situation! I've got to tell you, though, that the issues are not common to either Harley or Champion. I am fairly typical in that my experience and enjoyment with my Champion set up on my FatBoy is all positive....not a single complaint! and mine was triked in '06, so is of a similar age to yours. It definitely sounds like yours is an individual case.

By the way, a big welcome to TrikeTalk! We look forward to hearing more from you and getting better acquainted.

... as we slide down the banister of life, the splinters in our butt are usually
the manufacturers/suppliers who don't give after-sales support.

Had a friend buy a brand new FatBoy, without even riding it, the bike was shipped
to a trike builder who did his 'thing'.

After only a few thousand clicks on the clock, tires were rubbing on the guards
and that was (reluctantly) fixed, but then the swing arm broke and he's having a difficult
job getting them to come to the party... The manufacturer is trying to lay the
blame on incorrect rear-suspension setting by the owner... still ongoing.

Mate is rightly p***ed off, 'cos this exercise in Australia costs A$60,000 +
I've had some issues in my build, but problem was lack of support during the build,
Didn't cost bucks, but added grey hairs.
