"DITTO" here Guido.....understand though...!!!!!

Just 5 more days before our "Family Reunion" and I'm really getting excited to meet the nicest folks on three wheels! One in particular is Ray Monroe aka RAY MONROE and his s/o Kathy Forbes from Rockford, IL. Kathy works in payroll for the Rockford Park Dist. She is new to motorcycles but after meeting Ray 9 months ago she caught the "bug" and just 2 months ago took the Motorcycle Safety Course and passed. Kathy is also active in the Rockford Model A Club and has owned her 1928 Ford for 40 years. Ray says that some of Kathy's strongest traits is her loving nature, compassion for others, and her nurturing spirit.

Ray was a firefighter in Franklin Park, IL for 25 years and was one of the first three paramedics on the dept. He also was active as a hockey referee working his way up to the college level. Ray has refereed many state final games and worked as a sub in the International Hockey League. Kathy has a daughter who is married to a fine young man and they have a girl 6, and a boy 5. Ray has 2 sons. Tim is a firefighter is married to Kim and they have 3 children. Jeff works for the U.S. State Dept. and is the chief of security at the U. S. Consulate in Switzerland. He and his wife Michelle have a bright, full of life five year old girl.

Ray has been riding motorcycles since he was 14 but suffered a stroke in March of 2011 which necessitated a change in his riding style. In April he bought a Stallion Trike that was listed here in the classifieds. He had it modified for his "ability" and his may be the only Stallion with a power door! Ray and Kathy can't wait to meet the fine folks that will be at the rally and I'm sure all of you cant wait to meet Ray and Kathy. Be sure and say hello to Ray and Kathy when you arrive in the beautiful mountains of Eureka Springs.

Important reminder about the rally dinner: We have submitted the guaranteed head count to the caterer based on the number of prepaid meals. They will only prepare for the number of meals submitted, plus a 10% upcount. There will only be a few meal tickets available for purchase at the rally, and will be sold on a first come-first serve basis. We were given until the end of today, Wednesday, for last-minute orders as they will be ordering for the meal tomorrow, Thursday.

Final rally schedule and event updates will be posted on the website by the end of this week.

We are excited to see you all next week!

Hey Doug, Sorry about your "situation". I know how you feel, having been there four times. My wife thinks I look just like you, the beard, sunglasses, shirt and I think I've got the same Tilley hat. I wonder how many people will think I'm you :wave4: Seriously, hope everything works out for you and you'll be able to make the next one. Regards, Rich

The clock is ticking!pepper

One more reason to attend, well actually TWO more good reasons to attend is that you'll get to hang out with our member support leader Ted (Gorilla) and Mary Jo Migala from Key Largo Florida. Ted is the guy who is often seen under someone's trike doing a quick fix on whatever might be aliling it. He's pretty much a "can do" kind of guy who can fix any and everything and wont hesitate to lend a hand to anyone in need, he truly has a heart of gold as does MJ! Ted and MJ have been married for 45 years, together for 50 years!

Ted retired from 38 years of government service as an Air Traffic Controller, 34 with the FAA and 4 with the Air Force and is currently Commander of Reserve Division Monroe County Sheriff Office, rank of Captain and a good one for sure. Ted calls MJ a "Professional Home/Family Manager" which means she pretty much runs the show. Ted ride's a beautiful 2007 Harley Road Glide with Champion Conversion which he installed and MJ rides a beautiful pearl white 2008 Stallion. Their Hobby is Trike riding and they ride about 10 to 12 thousand miles a year on average, including Glacier National Park last year. After our rally they are heading to California for their latest adventure and will be riding the Pacific Coast Highway before returning home to Key Largo Florida. These are two more of the nicest and most interesting folks you'll ever meet so dont hesitate to introduce yourselves to Ted and MJ.

Way to go Gorilla, it is a small world, I too am an Air Traffic Controller in my 33rd year. 9 Navy and 24 FAA, dont know if I can beat that time though, looks like retirement at the end of this year!!!!

Ride Safe and Enjoy!!!

Getting packed up and ready to go...leaving on Saturday morning and stopping to see family and friends along the way so we will be in Eureka Springs on Sunday. Can't wait to see everyone there! Be prepared to have a fantastic, relaxing trike "vacation" visiting with new friends and old. This is more of a big meet-n-greet than a rally. There will be few if any vendors, we leave that to the big rallies because we want to keep ours small enough to be intimate and manageable. I guarantee you will make some new lifelong friends at this gathering, we have made many and looking forward to putting faces with screen names.

Had a rake kit put on the trike this week, (man, what a difference that makes) will wash and wax her tomorrow, and head out Saturday morning for a relaxed ride to Eureka Springs. We will be there Sunday with bells on, well one bell, our gremlin chaser. Looking forward to the rally.

Six of us leaving tomorrow morning and will arrive on Sunday. The other five are on two wheels, so be kind to them because they are excited about seeing all the different kinds of trikes and to ride the Ozarks. First time here for all of us!!

Hope you all have a wonderful time at the Rally......sounds like it is going to be a great time................those of us that can't make it will be waiting for the stories and pictures! Safe trip to all!

Or maybe a Senior (or not so senior) Moment. If I can't remember it, I can't get in trouble. The only real problem is the computer in my wife's brain recording every little infraction I am guilty of....To remind me of for the next 50 years.:qpnmt:

It all looks like it will be fantastic! I know everyone will have a wonderful time :D.

Stopped for night just about 125 miles from rally central. I'm in Lebenon, MO. Thought the trike felt a little weird on road. Checked front tire. Worn and some cupping. Went across hwy to Ozark HD (I-44, exit 127). While they were throwing on new front tire it was pointed out to me how bad my front brakes were. Need to have pads and rotors replaced. HD back home did a sucky job inspecting when in for service just before trip. I also spotted rear tail light out when they rode it in. The wife is sitting in A/C across hwy at hotel.. We will be at rally early. By Sat afternoon. Chance to relax poolside.

Hey Bigdog. Dianne wants to know if Miles is with you? Are you coming in one shot Sat? Otherwise will see you Sunday.

Miles is home with Uncle Norm, he had bought two new stuffed animals and a new ball for him. So I left him, we will be in Sunday afternoon!:wave4:

Just had dinner with Skutter and MtnRider, will be heading out of Estell Springs in the morningpepperThumbUppepper

Hey Everbody, well, I got to Albany, GA on Thursday. temps at 103! I was pulling my popup camper heading for Luckys place in Alabama and then on to Dyersburg to meet up with Skuuter, Big Dog and MtnRider. Late thursday night I had a major medical issue and had to break down camp and find a motel with A/C. At 11:30 pm! Three motels later I found one with workin A/C after midnight. After unloading and reloading my stuff three times I tried a cold shower, but only a trickle came out. Collapsed on the bed and woke up a couple of hours later with severe muscle cramps. Downed a couple bottles of Gatoraide and tried to get some sleep. Friday morning I was exhausted and knew I couldn't continue. I stuffed everything in the trike and camper and headed back home. I encountered the heaviest thunderstorms I've ever riden in around Perry, FL, but at least it was cool!

I am so disappointed that I won't be able to join you fine folks this year. I just retired last week and was really looking forward to this trip. The Queen says I'm not 18 anymore and wasn't trained to be a Navy Seal! Lotta sympathy there. I'll be looking for all the great stories so have a super time everyone. I hope to see ya'all at the next one! Regards, Ace

lazyace, you did the right thing to take care of yourself first! Make sure you are checked out completely by your doc to be sure nothing else is going on!
