Winter Mods to my 2015 Tri Glide

That really looks good,Rich. Your front fender looks like an aftermarket unit, now. ThumbUp
Just need some custom inserts on those brake calipers.

Yup the calipers need something and my fender extension needs something other than the plasti-dip I threw on there as a quick fix.

Finished!

Last weekend I installed the DK filter relocation kit with Outlaw cleanable filter. Nice unit and outstanding customer service. Today I added Harley tribal mirrors and retractable cables for the trunk door. All that's left is lettering and pinstriping. here's a few pics that I took today. I passed a stress test Thursday and start cardiac rehab next week !

Wayne, Beautiful trike and more importantly, congrats on passing your stress test. Did you have to stay up all night preparing so that you would pass it? :qpnmt: Have fun in cardiac rehab, they are going to run your ass off and keep you off that trike as much as they can:AGGHH: Tell them that tricked out TGU's like yours are great therapy and wonderful stress relievers!

Took the trike out for a little hundred mile shakedown ride yesterday. Nothing fell off! The Avon trike tire at 40 psi felt very good. Steers and handles very nice. And everything I have read about the Progressive rear shocks is true. What a difference from the stock air shocks. I have used Progressive shocks since 1999 on my FLHT. They were good then and they are good now.

Have an appointment the week after the Murtle Beach Rally for lettering and pinstriping .I will post pictures when it is done. Started 12 weeks of cardiac rehab last week. It will be good to finish that. Supposed to warm up and stop raining this week.

I dont mind riding at 50 degrees but not when it is raining.

Pinstriping finally

well it's been almost a year since my appointment for pinstriping. Due to one thing or another it never happened ! Have appointment with Dave Davies this Sunday . Hope nothing screws this one up. Pictures to follow.

We look forward to your follow up.ThumbUp

Please let us know.

Pin striping can really accent a trike.:clapping:

That is one good looking trike you have there, looks like the work you did has paid off and worth the wait, enjoy

All for now Trampas

Removing HD metal tank emblems

How did you remove the metal emblems from the Tri Glide tank? I find that my knees are constantly hitting them and I don't think I want them on anymore. Can they be removed like the rear fender reflectors with fishing line? Are they just put on with rubber back tape? Can they be removed without harming the paint on the tank? Thanks in advance for the input.

I just realized there was almost a year interval in updates! Trust all is well and you get the pin striping you are after.

I used goo b gone and fishing line. Took 10 minutes or so per side...mine were metal with rubber back tape.

Here are a few pics of the transformation-

A liberal amount of goobegone, some gloves and fishing line

Kevin, The MOCO puts some heavy duty tape on the back of those tank emblems. I heated up the tank emblems with a hair dryer and then took fishing leader and removed the metal badges while protecting the rest of the trike. Then, the process which took almost an hour to remove the remaining rubber and glue with Goo Gone was quite a chore. I then used some high-end cleaner, applied that and then finished off the process with a high-end carnuba based wax. The tank now looks beautiful, clean and my knees will no long bump into those stupid badges. A case for sure for function following form.

Ack! That's a long time.

I put the goo gone on the top of the tape and let it sit for a few minutes before going after it with fishing line.

Now you can pinch that tank going around the corners with no more irritation.

Kevin, I really like your pinstripe "Harley Davidson" lettering on your trike tank. Is something like that expensive to have done on both sides and how impervious is it when I "pinch" the tank while sucking up the seat with another part of my anatomy in some tight twisties where I may have overcooked it a bit?
