Will HD's adjustable backrest kit assemble fit on a TG?

I just traded my 2011 limited in on a 2012 TG but kept the adjustable backrest kit assembly from it in hopes of using it on the TG.
I know the HD catalog shows they require different part #'s but I thought I recalled a while back on one of the trike forums that someone had used a two wheel touring one on a TG with very little to no modifications.
If it can't be used on the Tg then i guess I'll sell it in the classified & buy a new one thats listed specifically for a TG.
Anyway any thoughts or info would be appreciated.
Thanks...

I would hang on to what you have now and wait and see if it will fit the trike. If anything you may just have to open up a hole larger or bent the front lip to angle it more on the backrest mounting bracket

I posted about this earlier in the year. Not sure if this would be the backrest you talk about or not. My old post has some of the part numbers listed as well. Harley also told me they would not fit, but they did and they fit just fine without any mods. I just lined everything up, got my bolts started then tightend everything up. My wifes is a 2011 so it maybe like comparing apples to oranges. Here is a link to that post with a photo or to as well, Good Luck:

Just put a Mustang on on a TRI-GLIDE and just had to make a small modification for the front mount. Had to raise it up a 1/2 inch or so with spacers.

I did the same thing. I traded my Limited and kept the back rest. Harley wanted $200 for a new bracket, Ace Hardware wanted $1.83 for longer bolts and spacers. Guess which I did? I don't remember the length of the bolts. The rear of the backrest mounts the same as on the Limited, then the front will not reach the mounting location. I measured and bought longer bolts and used larger nuts as spacers. Be careful not to let the turn signal clear device drop out. It is held in place by the two bolts.

I have an '09 TG and I move my back rest off my old two wheel Ultra to the TG at MOST I think I had to add a small spacer at the base....not much to it whatever it was.

Thanks a lot for the info!
Christine has to work Christmas so I think the dog & I will see if we can get
it mounted.
Have a nice holiday & a good "new year"...

I have a 2011 tri-glide. HD said the $300 adjustable backrest was the only one that fits. So I had the dealership install the $300 one. Well, my the wife liked the one off my 2004 Ultra. It is bigger & has the pouch in the back. I took off the new one & installed the old one. It fit perfectly. Just to another way to get more money out of us. So I traded the new one to Dennis Swan for some of his stuff. Don't know if he has installed it yet or not.
