Someone was asking a question concerning the widths of Trike Kit Brands. Couldn't find the thread but here are a couple to compare: Red Trike is a 95' GL1500 w/2012 Hannigan Kit, Blue Trike is a 03' GL1800 w/2004 Roadsmith Kit. I scratched the Roadsmith but not the Hannigan, go figure?Photo0260.jpg

Along the same line - does anyone know the width of a Freewheeler as compared to a Tri-Glide? Just curious.....

Both trikes are 54 3/4" wide overall, according to Screwball. He and his wife own one of each.

Mine began life as a 85 wing but is far removed from that now. Many years of modifications.*
It is hand made one off triked and is 48 inch outside fender to fender.
I never realized the bought kits were that wide.

There are 2 aspects of "width" pertaining to Trikes.
1. Overall Width or the width from extreme left to extreme right of the Body. Size
2. Track Width or the width/distance from center of left Rear Tire to center of Right Rear Tire. Operational concerns & attributes

Overall Width does not necessarily equate to Track Width and both need to be considered independently depending on what one is concerned about and wanting to achieve.
