We are already starting to plan our trip for 2017, we want to explore the East coast, like Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Vermont. Are there any spectacular roads to ride on with our TG or some "must see" roads or scenery? Any suggestions/help is much appreciated!!!

Seeing as you are really out in front on the planning, mt wife goes to the states web sites and looks for tourist information. Almost all the states have stuff they send out and then you can sit down at your own leisure and read/plan where to ride. This had worked out very good for us. Suggestion if you are headed that way it's not that much further to add St. Johns, Nova Scotia, Prince Edwards Island Canada in there. We went this past summer and loved it. Our Canadian cousins welcome you and are very helpful.

Here's an idea to think about. From your home. Looks to be not far from Manitowoc to Ludington ferry. You can maybe then loop through part of Canada. Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia are indeed nice riding. Could cut down also into NY or VT. Don't forget Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory tour in northern VT. Great riding in NH.

Bozo you are right 2 summers ago we did that. We rode up to Greenbay then took the Badger Ferry. Rode a cross to Huron boarder crossing.

Then down to Niagara Falls, Toronto, Montreal, (Neither MJ or I read or speak any French so we did not feel comfortable in Quebec Provence. Keep not knowing where we were and when we would ask for directions a lot of people said they spoke only French, so it seemed like they were trying to help but not successfully. So we dropped down into New York State from Montreal. We absolutely loved Canada except for Quebec Provence. They could ride through Canada to Montreal then drop into New York and NH, Vt, Me. and back into Canada to the St. John's etc.

Just a great area of the country. The Badger was about 4 hrs but it was nice a calm with thick fog all the way across.

I've had great luck contacting the HOG Chapters in the areas I plan on visiting. They've been great with out of the way routes and places to stay.

Contacting HOG chapters in the are a is a great idea. Our chapter has met people from other states and spent a few hours leading them to some of the local sights. All depended on what they wanted to do.

we were out there last month rode in Pa. Nj. and NY just about any road that is not interstate is great riding you might want to ride though Harriman State Park it has a great riding with beautiful views which is route 106 I think. We left Pa. rode over to the Huston River at West Haverstraw NY if you get there you need to eat at the Filling Station has the best Sweet Potato Fry I have ever had

Thanks everyone for the help! Now I've heard that if anyone has had a "Willy-weaver-award" under their belt, that person cannot enter Canada. Apparently a DUI is considered a felony there?.?.? Does anyone know if there is truth to this?

Last year Mary and I spend some time in the Northeast.

Check out the ride report for pics and ideas on what you would like to see-

Canada is pretty strict about letting anyone in that has been arrested for anything, whether convicted or not. They are very strict on DUI's.

You can call a Canadian Embassy and get an application for a tourist visa up front. After you apply, they will either issue it (not seeing the DUI) or not issue it. There is a class you can take that will "erase" the DUI from their records, resulting in them letting you in.

I would just try for the tourist visa without mentioning the DUI and see if they even know about it.

Also, you will want to get back into the USA when done with your visit. It is much easier with a passport. There are ways to travel in and out of Canada without a passport, not remembering what they are right off hand.

simply depends on whether it is still in the system, which is a turkey shoot if u r at the border.
There are ways to have it removed, not sure what they are. BTW, its same for Canadians coming into the US - anything showing up and u can't come in.
