Whats for Supper?

Brisket and fixins

First attempt at brisket using indirect smoking/cooking on my grill with lump charcoal and mesquite and my dry rub. Check out that smoke ring!

Ready to eat with garden grown tomatoes and baked potato! YUM!

Way to go Doug, thats some good chow right there. ThumbUp

It was... shared it with the neighbors next door since they had to smell it all day! I started the grill at 5:30 this morning and was took it off the grill at 3:30 this afternoon. Wrapped it in foil and put it in a cooler for a few hours to let it finish on its own. :D

We're in Ohio now visiting family, a little ribs and chicken for dinner, learning about the son-in-laws smoker.

if you are in need of a gas grill, you can get a Weber Genesis on sale now at either Lowe's of Home Depot. you rarely ever see Weber's on sale. you can save a$100.

with the Genesis you get a sear burner as well plus the side burner. it's a great grill if you happen to be looking for a great gas grill.

T-Bones. Basted with a red chili reduction and grilled to med-rare. Served with Asparagus and roasted Long Green Chili and a Chopped salad. And of course a nice Cab!

Wild Minnesota Spaghetti Sauce

Tonight's feature is my Wild Minnesota Spaghetti Sauce.

The "wild" comes from Minnesota Wild Rice and Whitetail Deer. There is a cup of cooked Wild Rice and a pound of Venison hamburger meat. Crushed tomatoes, mushrooms, diced red and green Bell pepper, grated carrot, celery, minced garlic, tomato sauce and the normal Italian Seasonings. This will slow cook all day so all of the different ingredients get to "marry". 30 minutes before serving I will bring the entire thing to a simmer and add a cup or two of red wine (I prefer a big and bold dry wine).
